I'm moving out, Anne unless you do something! :) Updated, Vet gave her a bath. She's a lot more bareable now.

aaaahhhh OK, I am really weird, but the skunk smell isn't all that awlful..there are much worse smells to me..like cigarettes.

I used to really hate it when my dog would roll in dead (very long dead) fish or crabs at the beach..now that's a nasty smell! when we were kids our dog rolled in one of these dead creatures just before we were leaving for home. NO time for a bath...and it would take more than a bath for a long haired dog, so my Dad put cologne on her...Hai Karate cologne...It was hot and we were stuck in traffic all the way home! :o :P :P
We had a horrible ride the cologne almost killed us..never mind the dead fish smell ...hopefully they don't even make that stuff anymore...I can still remember that odor oh man, I'll take the skunk any day!   ;)

The mixture you are looking for, I believe, is baking soda, Hydrogen Peroxide, and a tsp or so dishwashing detergent.  I called the emergency vet (it happened at 11:00 at night - right before bed) last year to my Boston Terrier.  Please make a call or do an internet search for the exact recipe -> it worked well for us.

Of course, since I did not have the hydrogen peroxide in house, I had to go to Meijer to pick it up.  Once inside, I noticed that I smelled of skunk.  I had to keep moving to not draw attention to myself.  Of course, there is no way to keep moving when checking out...  "Something smells like skunk!!!" -> "That'd be me :("

Sorry- I got SLAMMED at work!!!!! But everyone is right- it is 1 qt H2O2, 1/4C baking soda, and 1 tsp garden-variety soap- Ivory, or Dawn or what have you.

This is what i love/hate about my job.....at 3:30 I thought I might be walking out of there at 5. At 4, I knew I'd be there till at least 8........

anne, do you get the net at work??  I worked that last two night shifts inside in lock up and I was dieing for an internet connection.  Our work trusts us with firearms and arresting people, but they feel that the internet is to much for us to handle
