Skunky

galen:
My wife let our mutt (that must sleep with us every night), out the front door and Penny usually takes just a few minutes to do her thing and she comes back to the door and yeps to be let back in. I hear this high pitch scream/yep, like when you step on the dogs paw. Holy mother of pearl, Penny got it right in the face. It was so bad in the house it smelled like burnt rubber.  ::) We bathed her in tomato paste, that hardly took an edge off. Called a buddy that has an on-line pet supply store. Dan said he would meet me there. This was 9PM. Dan ask "did it spray you?" No, the dog. He said that I even smelled bad.  He gave me some stuff called Skunk-off. It helped, but oh man. Now Penny won't hardly go outside unless someone is with her. It will be my luck, I get in the tub and that skunk will come looking for cat food. I better move the cat bowl.

Brewman:
Tomato paste, or juice?  It's the juice that's supposed to take the smell out.

If she's really bad, call your vet and they might be able to give her a skunk bath.
My wife works for the local vet, and they do this occasionally.  Cost isn't all that much, IIRC.

wmccall:
Put her in the hot tub and shock.  ;D

galen:
OK, I'm getting a headache :(  Thats funny, Now she raises the hair on her back when she gets close to the door. I've told her that the damn skunk is gone, but she won't listen. ::)

anne:
There is a recipe that works a lot better than tomato juice. I'll be at work later, and if i can make time, I'll post it. It involves H2O2 and baking soda, amongst other things..........or is it baking soda and lemon juice? hmmmmmm.... ;)
