Anybody Else Here A Steeler Fan?

I also heard speculation that he wasn't licensed. In his position that is inexcusable, so I'm guessing if not licensed, he probably isn't insured either.  I guess a big NFL salary covers all that!   IF this is true, legally things just got somewhat easier for the lady that hit him.

Brookenstein:
They said on ESPN last night that his permit expired in March.

My husband rides a bike.  It scares me to death given that CA lane shares, but that it the reason he does it.  He can cut his travel time by more than 1/2, plus it gets 60 mpg compared to his car that gets 18.  Yesterday morning alone he was cut off 3 times.  One guy almost lost his mirror out of it.   ;D

Brewman:
Though it seems scary, there is evidence that lane sharing (where legal- here in MN it is not) is actually safer than sitting in bumper to bumper traffic.

There are a huge amount of people riding motorcycles without the proper license, permits, insurance, or training.

Brookenstein:
With a permit in CA you cannot ride at dark, on the freeway, or with passengers.  My husband bought a bike (off Ebay sight unseen) with no permit and hadn't ridden a bike (dirt) since he was a kid.  He immediately got a permit, but he drove the freeway to work and often at dark.  Drove me crazy cause I'm a total rule follower plus I was afraid if he was breaking the law and was in an accident then our insurance would be void.

Anyway, he let his first permit expire before he got a license, then got another permit.  His second permit was up for expiring and I finally set down the law and told him if he didn't have a license by x day, the bike would be on the front lawn with a FREE sign.  It worked.

I have to agree with you about the insurance Brooke, that was risky for him and your family.  Don't tell my wife I agreed with you!
