NFL.com had this blurb...

"....But according to those close Roethlisberger, he did break his jaw, his nose, chip his teeth and suffer various lacerations to his cheek and knees.

I think it's too early to really say anthing about his game days.

I think your right. From what I read the 2 months quoted is for normal use of face and jaw. However, playing QB in the NFL is far from normal.  But I would guess 2 months might be good for non-contact drills common in summer camp.  I'd purely speculate he might be ready by first week of the regular season

Wisoki:
Two healthy athletes run at eachother full steam in full gear maybe at top speed 10 MPH and wouldn't dream of doing it with out a helmet, man on a machine that can travel at speeds over 100 mph, but wont wear a helmet  ??? I'm glad he's going to be ok, but I think he needs his head re examined. I laid my 750 down at about 45 mph. It was either that or go dead on into oncoming traffic. Wearing full leathers and a helmet. Good thing cuz I rolled for a good 50 yards. I'm sure it was quite spectacular for the people in the cars that got to witness it! suffice to say, that was my last riding day. It still amazes me when I see riders on the highway with nothing but shorts and sunglasses on to protect them.

Brewman:
Yup- ball cap on backwards, shorts, sandals, no shirt (eewww...) and just shades to protect the face.

One of my old black full face helmets has a nice long white 10" long scratch right the middle of the back.  I carelessly clipped a curb at a relatively slow speed, ended up flying over the bike, doing a summersault on the sidewalk- which is what scratched the helmet.
That would have been my skull had I not been wearing my helmet.  I still have that helmet- I don't wear it anymore, since once you hit you toss, but it reminds me still of what could have happened.
I know there is freedom to choose and all, but I just don't understand why you'd take the risk.
I've been smacked in the head by insects, small rocks, and the like several times while going 60 mph.
That happens quite a bit.

No, you and Snowbird are the only two in the entire nation.

r100rs:
He is a friggin idiot!!  I hope his career is over.

Personally, I feel his insurance shouldn't pay out because he wasn't doing everything in his power to reduce/prevent injury.

Also heard he wasn't even licensed.

r100rs

Sorry to be so blunt about it, but I have no sympathy for stupidity.

I have been riding for 30 years and have had to lay down a bike twice.  One was my one fault being in- experienced and the other one I had know choice. (oil on the road with a sharp left)
