I bought two "Cal Spa" spas both had problems within the first year.
That by itself is not so bad. It is the terrible service I received and am still receiving. The Avalon 6 person hot tub rated consumers best buy had the heater coil go after just 3 months of usage. The jets seemed to have there own idea about what controls they would obey.
The other hot tub is the swim spa 2500. Since this is basically more of a swimming pool than a hot tub, I closed it for the winter. The thought of heating 2500 gallons of water all winter and not using it seemed wasteful. The service rep assigned by the dealer really did not seem to know how to properly winterize the spa, and told me just to pour antifreeze in the jets. The result in the spring was a cracked strainer canister. It is now 3 weeks later and I am told the part should get here the end of next week. Sounds great huh. All for only $35,000.
