the Volt fx4 is a great product. obviously more spendy than a piece of hose, but if this problem will recur then you'll be glad you bought it. it is rechargeable and powerful enough for a hot tubber's needs.

i like your shopping style. with that big of a gap the existing dealer was either using higher than normal margins, or the new dealer is trying to make a splash and keep the cash flowing in these crucial early stages. either way you benefit. regarding warranty all these big manufacturers do compensate for parts, and a little labor. don't be surprised if your dealer needs to charge a separate fee. companies that don't probably struggle to retain quality technicians.

i'd suggest trying one last trick before giving up. i've had good results by powering off the spa, removing the battery from the remote, powering the spa back up (30 amp breaker 1st), then putting the battery back in place. if it still doesn't work right i'd suggest calling a dealer. at the age of your spa you may have to replace the tray as well as the remote. not that the tray would be bad, but a new remote might not be compatible with it.

i would suggest keeping it hot all the time, unless you are a sporadic soaker. most plug and play spas have a decent amount of insulation imo. bottom line, if you are looking for hot water therapy plug and play is a legit option. if you need the jet action then bite the bullet and go 240v.

For a 300-gallon plug and play hot tub, heating time can vary but typically takes a few hours. Many people do adjust the temperature when not in use to save electricity. Since it's not a long-term place, a plug and play option might be more practical.

2016 Hot Spring Grandee We have the remote touch screen control. The manual buttons for the tub work, but the remote does nothing. The display shows all the things, but when you try to touch something it doesn't register. It does allow us to do the touchscreen calibration, but no control of the tub. When we turn the top on or off manually, the screen shows the changes. Could this be the control board? Pretty confident it's not the actual remote. Would rather not just throw parts at it! Thanks.

Use an ohm meter and test the flow switch. When open it should read infinity, when closed, it should read shorted or 0 ohms. If you don't get those readings, the switch needs to be replaced.

Thank you for the reply. It seems as though my local dealer doesn't wanna go to bat for me. Kinda make me feel like I'm a criminal for asking for help!
