Well? ???
Lori:
Yeah, sorry! My head is still swimming, but today it seemed to be a lot clearer! Shoot, I can't complain..my new supervisor bought us (their is one other newbie being trained with me) lunch yesterday, and the "department store" paid for pizza today. Learning the new computer software, now that is a challenge!
It seems to be going fairly well! We observed some of the girls on our team processing claims today, and that gave me a better idea of what to expect. Of course, I have a long way to go...I still have to take a medical terminology class, HIPPA class, and one other class (they are all on-line through work) but it has only been 2 days!!!
I think I'm going to like it. Everyone is so friendly! Oh yeah, our team pooled their money together to buy us a pop this afternoon! I almost can't believe how nice everyone has been.
One other thing, the girl who is training with me and I have started walking during our breaks! Encouraging each other to excercise, which I desperately need! We walked the equivalent of a mile today, which is a big deal for me!
Anyway, I blab too much! I'll fill you in on more, later!

Lori,
Congratulation on your new job in the insurance industry!!!!
I have been an insurance fraud investigator for 19 years. It is a great career and a lot of fun. Benefits in this industry are fantastic as well.
You will find that there is a lot of room for growth in this industry if you want to move up.
The only drawback is, sometimes you shouldn't advertise too much that you work for an insurance company....lots of folks out there hate insurance companies because of some poor prior claims or customer service experience where their expectations were not met. Most of the time I find that their expectations were unreasonable, but sometimes it's best just not to even open that door for conversation!
But....that said, I love my job, I hope you will too!!!
