Hi everybody. Looking to buy my first hot tub and have been eyeing a j-365. I think I am getting the run around on the price. I was quoted with an stereo at $10,595 + Tax. I think this is kinda of high and was wondering what you guys think would be a best haggle price. This price including steps, cover, cover lifter, delivery, and water kit. This was also for the monaco color. I am paying cash for this tub and was thinking about trying to offer $8,500 out the door including tax. If anybody could kindly share the price they paid for one or what you think they would take for an offer please let me know. They also had a 2013 wet floor model J-470 for $11,895 + tax. I threw out an offer of $10,500 including tax but the sales guy looked at me like no way in hell. When i mentioned $11,000.00 including tax it caught his attention i think but would still have to be ok'd by the boss. Any help would be appreciated.

In this thread they are talking 8K for this tub.  Is it the same one??

So you now know that at $8500 they make a profit.

My last new car I looked up what the base car and all the options on it actually cost the dealer.   Then I put $500 on top of that.  The offer was $5500 under sticker and they would not come down less than $1k under sticker.  I sat there all day on a Saturday through 4 salesmen trying to beat me down and each time I slid the same offer across the table.  They slid the same offer back.  At the end of the day the general manager came in and I slid the same offer and he made the same counter offer.  He told me the dealership would be closing in a hour and that he was making a very reasonable offer for a popular car they would have no trouble selling.  At that point he walked for the door and I stood up and said I guess we have no deal thanks.

He stopped at the door and said the car would be prepped and ready to go in 30 minutes.  Yeah I sat there all day but I also got $5500 most other people would have paid off the price.

The only leverage that sales guy has over you is ....  you.

Long day.

I was in for the long haul, but my friend Mitch had just bought a Tacoma 4x4 and went with me to help me get a good deal.  I explained it would take hours and that he should not go but he just had to help.

His idea of help was to backup the salesmen and tell me how I should be taking their deal and how I was being unrealistic.  Never take someone with you if you really want to deal, they rarely understand the concept.

Amen Clovett  ;D

Bimmer, you'll get it for $8,500 if you are serious, courteous, and firm - assuming the guy is smart enough to know that making a sale is more important than "beating" you in a negotiation battle.
