2004 Marquis Reward "dr" error
« on: July 09, 2014, 07:56:02 pm »
I put a new heating element in my tub, and replaced the topside. Primes fine, then attempts to heat(temp reading ambient water 72) and it shuts off to a "dr" error. If I force start by pressing the jet button the tub runs 15 minutes and heat turns on and actually bumped the temp by 1 degree in 15 minutes. But come time for the tub to test and run to heat it shuts down again. I called balboa and he ran a few tests on the phone with me to confirm water flow to heater, and said admirer I should just order 2 new heater sensors. Any thoughts?

Have you tried running it without the filters in? Filter may be clogged. Also make sure the splice valves are open (handle pulled out)

Thanks, yes the filters are out and the valves are open. Here's a dumb question. 2 pumps, what does each do, and how can I be 100% sure they're working? I have a jet button that gives me 2 speeds, but that seems to be all from 1 pump. I hear both pumps running and both get warm, but one might be chugging along and is never know. That would give me a dr error I believe due to lack of flow.

Jets 1 usually controls Pump 1 which will be your filtration and heating pump.

Most models have 2 speed pumps, but some will have a 2 speed pump and 1 single speed pump.

According to Marquis service manual the most likely causes for a "DR" code are as follows in this order:

Defective Pump
Low Water Level
Closed Slice Valve
Clogged Pump Impeller
Defective Sensor (Extremely Unlikely)
Defective PC Board (Extremey Unlikely)
