This is not a good day for me.

My 18 year old son ( the sailor) leaves today for the persion gulf. He's just so young and I'm so scared for him.

He's been home for two weeks on leave and today is the day I've been dreading since he joined the Navy a year ago.

Last night I snuck into his room and watched him sleep like I used to when he has a baby. :'( :'( :'(

He's in for four years and they can't go fast enough for me. On a brighter note he looks really handsome and all grown up in his sailor dress uniform. I'm very proud of him.

Chin Up!

He needs you strong and supportive, and before you know it that ship will be pullng back to the dock for another 2weeks leave. Be proud to know that hes there to protective this great nation we live in. His strength upon return will be that of a great warrior insuring a strong future in what ever path of life he may choose after the military. However his growth is fed by the love he feels from loved ones during his duty. So hold your head with pride and hug him strong as his thaughts of leaving should be those of great pride and not sorrow as you will see him again real soon. To him I give thanks for his service of duty. :)

Spahappy,
Be proud of him, you've done well. We are also appreciative of anyone who servces his/her country. I'm going to give my 3 boys and extra bear hug today in his honor.

He has my respect, admiration, and gratitude.  It takes a special person to put everything on the line for his country.  I pray that he will be safe and successful in his mission.  God Speed!

At least we haven't lost many Navy guys in this conflict. I'm trying to be reassuring not diminishing his contribution.
