jacuzzi j-470

Hi all ,new to the forums but have read alot and done some research.

My wife and I have been testing hot tubs and have settled on the j-470 as the one that fits our wants. My only consern is getting a fair deal ,getting a good dealer.

they quoted us a price of $13,000 tax included. thats with cover, delivery, ozone ,steps,lift,chemicals,j1000 stereo and we live 30 miles from the dealership. We live in MN

I have seen prices on this fourm of $10,000 but didnt see the stereo option listed. mybe it was included by not sure. Is my pricing  3 grand to high? 2 grand to high , in the ball park? Im just looking to get the best bang for my buck and not get took by a swift dealer ... thanks for your input ...

Welcome to the forum.  I stay out of price discussions as I haven't purchased a tub in 7 years.  However, that is a big tub that holds a lot of water.  I hope it works out well for you.

Prices vary around the county more than one might expect.  Prices changes sometimes without what seems to be a logical reason.  I would not expect to get the 470 for $10,000 where I live.  Maybe you can do a little better thatn 13K but maybe not.  Perhaps you can suggest that you are willing to wait until they have a shipment coming in or a full turck to reduce shipping cost and maybe save a few hundred or so.  If it is a modle on the floor you can probably haggle a bit more.

thanks for the welcome and the input. yea its a big tub but im a big guy at 6'3 300lb ... I like the sit in type seating and felt so far the jacuzzi was the most cumfortable for me. My wife being much smaller also like the seating.

Have them quote the spa both with and without the stereo so you know just how much you're paying for it.

I'm not as big of a fan of the 400 series because I think the prices are high compared to the 300 series where you get more spa for your $ but in the end you need to find the spa that is right for you. Also, don't be afraid to negotiate their offer. You never know if its their best price unless you tactfully and politely insist you need a better price to be satisfied and they firmly say "we can't do better" and even then I'd probably counter. Until then that "best price" to me just means its what they want you to pay for it, not necessarily what they need to get for it.

I was quoted a price of $12,700 plus tax *$13,800 out the door) for the J-470 w/the J-1000 stereo, cover lifter, delivery and set-up. Guess I was given a shady price.
