Delayed?
« on: June 23, 2020, 09:45:55 pm »
So I ordered my Hot Spring Flash a month ago.  Now my dealer is telling me, they don't know how long it will be to get my tub.  He even mentioned September.  Is everyone experiencing this?

Yes.  I’m a Hot Spring and Caldera dealer and had been telling my customers September with the likelihood of October but I was clear that this timeline was an educated guess and not officially from Hot Spring.

These are unprecedented times.  Production has been shut down due to COVID-19.  Demand is at an all time high and the entire dealer network has no product.  Everyone is ordering extra inventory which is pushing out lead times.  Sounds like your dealer was overly hopeful on when they could get product or not upfront like they should have been.

Pretty sure everyone buying a hottub within the past five months has been experiencing this issue.   Marquis Spas was one of the only major manufacturers to not shut down during the first wave of the pandemic.  I read all the Facebook comments on Hotspring Ads and it seems like some people who ordered as far back as January still have yet to receive their tub!

I heard one of the major brands isn't even taking orders for any new tubs this year, although I haven't figured out what brand that is yet.

Everyone is in same boat. I ordered more tubs from Marquis yesterday and my expected date of co
Completion is March 2021. I’m interested to see what Caldera says end of this month on tubs I order from them. Guessing October or so. But again just a guess. Caldera/hot springs main plant has been shut down since mid March so I’m sure the orders will fly in at end of month

Factory is open and producing hot tubs.  Production resumed on June 30th so that order in May couldn't have even been placed until June 29th.

I'm a Hot Spring and Caldera dealer, FYI.  Lead times are now known at the time of order, exact times are not.  When the initial orders were placed on June 29th lead times were not known yet due to the unknown volume of orders that would come in.  Your dealer will be contacted by Caldera about 30 days prior to the hot tubs arrival date.  They then will be contacted when the hot tubs enter production and final contact when they ship out.

I'm not going to defend or criticize your dealer because I don't know the exact situation.  If you want to look at other options be aware that lead times generally speaking right now are 6 months plus for pretty much all brands in the industry.  The Caldera you have on order will arrive long before any other option.

For the most part dealers don’t really know when they are coming in. When they took orders on June 29th and 30th they were overwhelmed with orders and lead times on that first run of tubs was up to 28 weeks. Depending on how large of a order your dealer did that could place lead time from anywhere from now until January. On reopen I ordered a number of truckloads. I have received one so far and have another that shipped today. Tough to gauge when stuff is coming as over 50,000 hot tubs were ordered on June 29th or 30th. As of today lead times on new orders are much worse so unfortunately things are getting worse not better. If you ordered another brand hot tub I don’t know of any manufacturer that can get product before March of 2021. It sucks for us dealers as well because demand is here like we have never seen but getting product to fulfill that demand has been virtually impossible. Which tub did you order?

What the 2 previous posters mentioned pretty much says it all. If I were a customer I might ask 2 questions:

1) when did you last receive a truckload,
2) of the spas received, what was the order date of the most recent order and oldest order.

That would kind of give me an idea of my expected delivery time line assuming my order wasn't too far afterward.
220, 221, whatever it takes!
