Last night we were invaded by a porn spammer. I think I got rid of all the messages. If I missed one, let me know.

I have been spending hours deleting spam and porn links on the boards I moderate.
What a pain. It is automated, so there are always ten or eleven posts. Usually three new topics - which are easier to delete - but then the rest are scattered among old posts. That brings the old post to the top, where somebody may reply to it, and that causes all sorts of other fun.
I sure don't get how these people make any money off of this behavior -

maybe you could set up a separate forum site for the good porno sites. You could even include pictures of the time Chas was locked out of his house

Exactly what I saw. Did you ban IPs? I'm sure they shift, but perhaps we should share IP addresses?

I remember Drewski telling the story and I was still laughing even after I was off the computer..I am almost sure it was Drewski...

Seem to use multiple IP or anonymiser sites.
We ban the member, but that is a waste of time really.

I've been looking at it and your right. When they do hit, it seems to be several messages right away, so I did turn up the repeat post timer to a minute, hoping that doesn't inconvience the proper users too much.
