How long should it take to get MPS level down after shocking? Anyone know by what mechanism MPS levels decrease? (Does it offgas? Does the heat somehow reduce it? Does interaction with Dochlor eliminate it?) Is there anything I can do to intentionally decrease the MPS level? (if I add dichlor for example?)

You can soak in tub after 15-30 minutes of using MPS, so the manufacturers say.......

MPS is an oxidizer and will stay in the water until it has something to oxidize. If you are shocking with MPS, leave you cover off for 15-20 minutes and then you can either close it up or hop in.
It is not so much the MPS in the water but the offgassing of the oxidizing process. Some routines actually have you add non chlorine shock before you enter the water (Nature2 for example).
