Title: Question about cover
Post by: galen on January 14, 2007, 12:29:59 pm
My cover is large. It's on a Maxxus. It's OK to lift when there is nothing on it like snow or ice but my wife can't support it when she flips it back over the tub. It comes down hard. Its a three piece top. The cover unzips an you can take the foam out of the inside. The middle or largest piece has broken and is starting to droop in the middle. Can I take the foam out thats in the middle section an cut another piece? Or do I have to replace the whole top?

You can replace just that piece. Your dealer should sell it for around a $100.00. However, if the spa is outside and the cover is 3 years or older, the foam usually will not fit because the vinyl and the foam cores shrink over time due to exposure. I know we can get "short" foam to accomodate this. Short by a 1/2 inch all the way around. But even then, sometimes it doesn't fit in.

Galen, shouldn't the broken cover be covered under warranty?

I know my Sundance cover came with a three year warranty.
