I use a bromine floater. All of my chemical readings are O.K. on the strip except for the ph level. It is always too low. I keep opening the floater up more and more to expose more of the bromine tablets, but it doesn't help. I don't want to mess the other readings up. I recently went to a tablet from a Brilliance Granule. (because the granules kept gunking up in the bottom of the floater) I had no problems with the ph level when I used the granule. I really don't want to go back to the granule. Any advice?

Add a Ph increaser. What is your current Ph reading?
By the way, I found that bromine tended to pull the Ph reading of my water down over time, so I had to regularly add some Ph increase.

I just tested the water. Here are my levels:
Calcium hardness-250
Bromine-5
Total alkalinity-160
p.h.-7.8
AQUA CHECK test strips. That is with the floater wide open!

Unless you want to be swimming in bromine I would dial that puppy down, ph and alk are a little high thats ok leave it they will come down. You should be in the 1 to 3 range on bromine 5 seems high.

The floater only controls the the bromine.
The Brilliance product is much closer to pH neutral, which is why you did not have the problem before.
You need pH increaser to adjust low pH; pH decreaser to adjust high pH.
