Title: Hot Tub Pic  ( Wild)
Post by: Campsalot on November 02, 2006, 10:36:29 am
I cannot believe this image has not been posted yet.  This dutch company is getting rave reviews for its stunning design of this hot tub.  Visit their web site for more wild photos http://www.dutchtub.com/
Who keeps the fire going?  Yes, that is a frying pan above the fire ring.  They are starting to sell these here in the US for $6000.00.

I just checked out the website.  :o ;D  If I happened to have an extra $6,000 sitting around, I would definitely get one for our cabin.  No worries with freezing, chems, anything.  Very cool.

aint no filter or pumps on that baby.  And not temp control.

I've seen other wood fired hot tubs. Some have the wood stove/fire box, such as this (Snorkel tub)

I almost ordered one of those snorkels.  My wife said "No, I'd feel like a hillbilly"  LOL!
Drewstar, what did you fix on my post?  Did I put the images in wrong?

you had [ img] brackets in front of img brackets.  I just reemoved them.  I bet when you copied the url from phtobucket (or where ever it was hosted) you didn't realize it already had the IMG tags included, and added an extra set onto the url string.

I simply quoted your post and that showed me the url string. I deleted everything except the correct url string.  ;)

Cool!  Got it!  Duplicate image brackets BAD!  I use photobucket, it's FREE! Thanks!

Oh, folks who are intersted in it,  the wooden snorkel tubs start under $3K.  (as opposed to 6K for the fancier Dutch one Campsalot showed us)   I know Doc spa sells wooden hot tubs, (Rhtubs.com)  but I'm not sure if he deals in wood fired tubs?

Looks like it'd be a better crawdad pot than a hot tub!

DW and I stayed in a b&b in the small town of Julian in our local mountains and the room we stayed in had a snorkel tub on the deck. The owner of the b&b showed us how to light it and within one hour the water went from stone cold to nice and toasty. DW and I did a bit of research on them and almost got one, but decided to go traditional style instead.
The snorkel tubs do get cold spots in them unless you get the optional jets package. Another interesting side effect is that if you don't have a cover or roof between the tub and the chimney pipe of the tub you will have a black ring of ash around your upper chest and back when you get out of the tub. DW and I skinny dipped in the one in the b&b and we came out with ash rings. Too funny. Fortunately we were planning to take a shower afterwards anyway.

Sung around the campfire plaing guitar and spoons:

"The fish swam in like horses and ran up on the beach;
They climbed into the old oak tree and each one gave a speech.
They sang a song then every one jumbed back into the lake.
It's amazing what you see up here...
When you hit your head really hard on the dock."

Whaaahhhaaaa... That's a good one, Uncle Red.
