Title: Rising PH & skin Rash
Post by: CapMorgan on October 29, 2006, 02:14:43 pm
Hello all,

I am on my second water fill on my first fill my PH level would always fall below the 7.4 level so every week I would have to add PH up, now I am on my second water fill and for some reason my PH is always going up to 8.0 or higher and now I have a skin rash and itching I cant figure out what is causing my PH to rise and what is causing my skin rash and itching this morning I balanced the water and my levels are

TA 90
PH 7.6
Calcium 200
Just shocked chlorine 10

Any ideas

Don't test the tub until the chlorine comes down to close to 0.

High chlorine skews the other numbers.

Hopefully you've kept the tub sanitized properly so you can rule out the dreaded hot tub rash, if not you need to nuke your tub. I've read that cold air and the hot water will make sensitive skin rash. Try moisturizing.

I had that problem about 2 weeks ago. I was trying to get my PH up, plus I had some new chemicals I was unfamiliar with...well.....to make a long story short, I went in one night without testing the water first, and got what was like a sunburn on my legs. Tested the water and everything was off the charts....sheesh.  I am just now getting back into the tub...I'm kinda chicken...sure wish I knew what I was doing! LOL

Here is how it works

Too many cem's you become a red skin.
to little you get a rash.

in case you sure what to do, try the middle.
