Can Tri-X filters be used in a 2006 HS Jetsetter? Other than the "clean in the dishwater" thing is there any advantage / disadvantage in this tub?
-
You can use Tri-X filters in any Hot Spring Spa of the last several years that had the oem part # 31489 filter.
Tri-X should last longer before you need to clean and/or replace.

Tri-X filters are great.... they really make things easier as well. Not only can you rinse them in the dishwasher, but they stand up to a little more abuse if you want to rinse them with a hose and filter wand.
I sell probably 60-70% of my repeat filter customers Tri-X.

I was told that Tri-X filter down to a smaller particle size than the regular paper filters, thus theoretically giving cleaner water.

How long do the tri-x filters last before having to replace them?
I know many people in the industry say you can rinse any filters in the dishwasher but I get the heeby-jeebys about that. I personally don't feel comfortable washing something that has body oils/skin dander/hair in the same spot that my dishes (that I eat off of) are cleaned. But.... (to borrow another posters line) that's just me.
By washing them in the dishwasher, does that wear them out faster than rinsing them?

You don't have to wash them in your dishwasher, you can still hose them down, but the dishwasher is an option. Where as with the paper filters it is not.

Can they be used in anything other than Hot Springs?

Cool, thanks. I'll go in that direction. No decrease in jet pressure?

Here's a stupid question. Do I need to unplug the Jetsetter when removing & replacing the filters? I plan to swap them with a clean set so can I just pull the old ones out and put in the new ones? Should take about 30 seconds.
-
No, just don't turn the jets on.

That's what I thought - thanks. Off to take a soak! :)

Doubt it.
