The backyard thermometer hit 103o yesterday in Virginia Beach, last night it was 89 at 11 PM.
My tub was at 106o last night and I took it for about 10 mintues before I called it quits.
Anyone else out there having the same fun?

I used it last night but this is what I did first.
It was 90°+ last night here in upstate NY.
Earlier, I got the hose out and removed some water. Then I topped it off with nice, cold tap water which brought the temp down to 92° F. Added some bromine granules, got the jets going. An hour later, the wife and I were relaxing in the cool water.
It was refreshing. We don't have central air in our place - just a couple of window a/c units in the bedrooms. It was hot all night long so taking a dip in the (not-so-) hot tub felt great. ;D

Here in MA, I used my spa Sunday night. Air Temp was in the 80's. I had a sore shoulder and the tub felt great.
It's been in the high 90s, maybe even over 100 the past few days. I have no desire to go in the hot tub in this weather.
My above ground pool was at 92 yesterday. I can only imagine what the hot tub was at. :P

eastern long island was only in the mid 90's, but hot tub was 106.....too hot for me
-
Been in the upper 90's all week here in NY. Have tub set at 96 deg and it gets to 102 but its not in direct sun all day. Been tubbing every night this week after 9:00 when it cools to the mid 80's. Don't mind the heat because WINTER is coming and I would rather not shovel the white stuff.
-
Went into the pool last night and the water was 92. As I got out a breeze was blowing , it felt chilly even with the air temps in the 90's and I thought it would be nice to tub. Opened the cover and it was 104 - too HOT! Closed cover and went into air conditioned house.
-
My Arctic is at 97, that is quite alright with the temps outside!
-
Haven't tubbed in 2 nights. Was having withdrawal symptoms. Went in this morning before it got too hot. Supposed to cool down tonight. Yay.....can't wait.
I can't wait to be tubbing in the winter!!! Everyone says it's so great!

Hot here in southern Mass. My tub is 97 I went in it Sunday night and havent been in it since. I have been on the boat after work until 9:30 or so. Its a lot cooler on the water. ;)

The heatwave y'all are experiencing hit the west coast first, had 110 plus for 8 days with a high of 113! My inground pool got up to 97! Was handing out soap-on-a-rope to all swimmers! LOL!

When it was Hell in L.A. (last week), I was in the tub. I've turned it all the way down, and it dropped to 90. Felt good.
Now, it's at 82!! ;D
The problem with those temps (at least the 90 temp, haven't been in since it dropped lower) is that you can go in, and then never leave.
It's a big problem.

Is your tub in the Hotel California?
My wife wanted me to lower the temp from 101 to 98 so that the one time she goes in a year - it's the right temp. As a good husband, I complied and it was too cold in there for a good soak. Since that one day wasn't approaching any time soon I put it back to 101 and man what a pleasant soak! I really like my tub at 101 to 102, it'll hit 103 with heater over shoot for a few minutes when I set it at 102 but when it's 20 outside - it's great!
-
Here in Western Mass it's been very hot & humid lately. I lowered my tub to around 94 and it feels great...especially after getting out of the 86 degree pool.
-
Sunday night was 72, I went in then for a bit. Skipped the last few nights as it's been too hot, tonight the weather finally broke again and it's about 68 degrees out now but raining. Tomorrow's outlook looks good!
-
Wow. I didn't now there where that many fellow MA folks here in the fourum!
I'm still not using the tub. Too hot. It''s cooled down signifcantly here the past day or so, maybe this weekend.
My wife reported the Above ground pool was at 96 the other day.....holy cow. We drained some off and filled it with colld water. Perhaps some folks could do that with their tub? partial drain and fill with cold water from the spigot?

Having dropped my temp to 95 and propping the cover, my tub can be anywhere from 97 to 100 at the end of the day when I get home from work. Normally, the first thing I do is open the cover. After an hour or so, temps usually drop to 95-97...perfect for me. I've been tubbing every evening here in Florida. And from the sound of everyone else's experiences, our 95 degrees with 90% humidity isn't so bad after all..... 8)

my first thought was "do any of the 100+ degree tubs have the cover propped open?"
We've been lucky in southern Wisconsin...we had 3 days over 95, and now we're back "on track" in the high 80's, with a cold front coming our way.
-
Let's see...here in Orlando, Fl it's been in the 90's for months. No, I haven't been in the tub! Can't even breathe when I walk outside. Can't wait 'til October when maybe it will be in the 80's...that's a cold front for us...LOL! :o ;D

So what to you do to your water cappykay when you have not soaked for a few days?
-
Last Wednesday we gave up...shocked the pool, locked the tub, packed up the kids, dog and parrot and headed for the beach...
The temperature in Ocean City Maryland was 100 but with a sea breeze and ocean temps in the 70's...it was a refreshing break.
I'm looking forward to soaking in the first snow storm! ;)

I don't do anything different to my water. I changed to economy mode about 2 months ago and I haven't had any problems with the water. It's a clear as ever. I continue to monitor the pH and alk and adjust as necessary and add shock. I'm due for a water change but I'll probably wait until it cools off a bit.
-
I keep the cover propped open and manage to keep the temp down to 95-98 degrees.

right there with you drewski....
I am also here in sunny(really sunny) va beach. I put the top of my gazebo back on, and when i get home in the evening, i prop the cover open. the dog kept stealing the tennis ball, so i just use my small bottle of ph up. hold the cover up about 8 inches. with out it the tub gets to 103-104. heater is set for 97, but i dont think it has come on for several weeks now.
i think that keeping the tub out of direct sunlight is helping. i still use the tub almost daily, but i agree, 104+ is to much.....especially in the summertime....
-
Just want to get my tub and then I'll let you know if I'm using it. It is d :Due to be deleivered on Fri 08-11-06. Can't Wait!!!!!

Everyone in the East should have been tubbing tonight. The temperature and humidity were at very comfortable levels and the moon was fantastic. ;)
-
Here in South Florida we are wondering what all the fuss is about. Temperatures are normal for us and of course we use our tubs. The night before last I left the spa uncovered overnight, which drops the water temp into the low 90s. Nice. But then we had a cool air mass hit us at dusk last night and our air temps dropped to about 80, which for this time of year is quite low down here. My wife was uncomfortable in the spa until I put the water heater on and warmed up the tub again.
She is going to have a problem when she goes back up to Massachusetts tomorrow. And then on Saturday she is going up to Northern NH for her high school class reunion and the temps up there have been dropping into the 50s at night there. I shiver to think about it.
I like it best between 85 and 90 with high humidity.

Wonderfully cool in Eastern MA last night, somewhere in the 60s. Temps in the 80s, clear and dry today...perfect late summer weather and great for evening tubbing.

Did anyone in S.E. Mass or RI happen to see a bright light in the sky a few nights ago? I was soaking the other night and noticed something create a bright streak and a couple bright flashes in the sky. I forgot about it until last night when I came across an online video of the same thing taken by a police car dashboard camera. Weird!
