Title: FRESH WATER CHEMICAL SYSTEM
Post by: green1320 on August 01, 2006, 06:39:59 pm
I JUST BOUGHT A NEW TIGER RIVER SPA AND THE DEALER STATED THE TUB COMES WITH A YEAR SUPPLY OF FRESH WATER CHEMICALS. HAS ANYONE EVER USED THIS SYSTEM? IF SO DOES IT WORK WELL? IS THIS THE SAME AS DICHLOR?

YES.  FRESH WATER UTILIZES THE DICHLOR AND MPS REGIMEN IN THEIR PRODUCTS.  THEY ALSO HAVE PH ADJUSTERS, FILTER CLEANSERS, AND COVER CLEANING PRODUCTS.  IT IS BASICALLY A WHOLE LINE OF CHEMICALS SIMILAR TO BIOGUARD ET AL THAT HAS THE HOT SPRING LOGO ON IT.

THEY WORK GREAT FROM MY EXPERIENCES.

Your dealer should be able to help you. It's not that dificult once you get the hang of it. Good luck.

We are new to "Tubbing" also. We found alot of info. just by reading the many postings in this forum.
Also we use the Aqua Test Strips, so you know what is needed. We started by adding the minimum amounts, then added a little more as needed, rather than "too much must be better."
We found if all else fails read the directions on the containers, but on some you really have to "skwint". :P
Good luck and happy "tubbing" :D

Hey Congrats on the new tiger river! You're gonna love it!  :)

Yup. your set up with Dichlor. It's a popular sanitizer and many folks here have great luck with it.

Follow your dealers directions for water care and see how it works for you.  Typically you'll be adding the dichlor after you soak, and using an MPS shock once a week or so.  You'll need to clean the filter once a month.

Most new tub owners are subjected to "Cha's Law".  ;)   This states that new tub owners should count on changing the water out after a month.  Sometimes water care is a bit of trial and error. New users make a few mistakes, tend to over treat thier water, buy every single water care product offered by thier dealer,  and heavly use thier tub in the first month.   Many times, after about a month, new users find the need to change the water out, after over medicating it.

You're in PA, right?  Your're getting your tub at a good time, you'll have a few months to get familliar with it, and get on top of water maintence before the really cold weather hits. (Changing your water in the winter is not recomended).

Water care may, at first sound overwhelming, and a bit confusing, but relax. It itsn't.  It's pretty straight forward and very  easy. After a few weeks  you'll be a pro.    :D
