Title: Water Line
Post by: CapMorgan on July 16, 2006, 01:39:36 pm
Hello all

I empty my tub today and I have a discoloration at the water line I don’t think it is scum, I think it is calcium build up I washed it but can’t seem to get rid of it, What can I use to get rid of it?

Thanks
CapMorgan

Don't know if others have opinions about using one of those calcium build up removers like CLR but might be an option.  Would want to use the minimum you could get away with and would probably need to thoroughly flush the tub after using to remove from the system.

But somebody with more experience might have a better idea.

You could try using a wet rag and some sodium bi-carbonate(Baking Soda)

*bump*
sorry, but I thought this worth bumping up...any "old hands" have other tricks that will clean off the line and not damage that beautiful shell?

I'd be curious to know if captain has tried to clean yet, what he did, and how it worked.
