Title: Newbie ??? - Draining tub water
Post by: LINDALU on July 12, 2006, 12:06:30 am
We're new, but learning alot from this forum :)
Our latest newbie question is... Where to drain the tub water ???
If we just drain it onto our grass lawn will it cause any problems for the lawn :-/

I'm pretty new at this too, but have seen others post here that it is not a problem, and it has not been one for me, either. I move the hose around to avoid one big wet area, taking advantage of the water for my "heartier" garden areas and the lawn. I do, however, take care to make sure that I have added no new chems for 24 hrs or so.

If you're using chlorine, don't add any for a day or two before draining.  When I was on bromine I just drained onto the sod- didn't hurt anything.
Not sure about any other chemical routines.

I drain my tub onto my lawn.  I let the sanitizer levels drop before doing so,  and ensure the water drains away from my foundation and away from any flower beds, and most importantly my vegitable garden.
