Title: Hows business?
Post by: spa_dr. on June 21, 2006, 10:35:18 am
Hello to all you dealers,

I was just wondering what spa traffic is like through-out the country. things seem to be unusually slow in my area. Is this a mid west thing or isit nation wide?

Service seems to have really slowed the last couple of weeks also.  Finally a chance to rest! :-/

I think it's a midwest thing, unfortunately.

May was the best month I've ever had.  June is steady, but everyone is buying small spas: Jetsetters, TX's, Prodigys.  The end of July is when our business really slows down, it's just too danged hot!

Business is good here. We had an off year last year. We are 10 tubs shy of matching last year ands its only mid-June.

I havent had time to stop by and say hello in a while...which I guess is good news.

I am also happy to announce that another bun is in the oven and I can book my surgery for March so it never happens again.... ;D

HotTubMan,
Been there, done that.
I found this to be truly helpful, especially within the 1st couple of days: bagged frozen peas. Placing them against certain parts of your anatomy helps to numb "things" thereby relieving the pain and they are highly moldable. Moldable as in "easily fits various contours". ;)

Correct...Ice....Ice...Ice...Motrin.....Motrin.....Motrin are important.  My neighbor felt so good after his nip and tuck that his wife talked him into going to the mall on the way home.  The local wore off and he went to his knees.  He had to crawl to the exit where his wife met him with the car.   On our block we call a husband who has been fixed "a perfered neighbor"!

In southern California the show are way down but the showrooms are up about 30%.  I have noticed that sales of high end spas are up and the mid priced spas are way down.
I guess that means that the rich will always have money to spend, but the mid class are a little scared of the economy.  IMHO.

I remember my hubby coming out of the doctor's office (many years ago)after his "nip and tuck", and I had never seem him that pale before!  Scared me at first!  Took him home, put him in his recliner with an ice bag and gave him a Tylenol 3 and he was good to go....
Walked a bit funny and slow for a few days though...LOL

CONGRATULATIONS HotTubMan!!! :-)

Ok, don't make me lock this thread. The topic of that surgery makes me extremely uncomfortable.  I've never moderated out of personal feelings, but there is always a first.  ;D

Being a fellow midwesterner, we're really slow as well on the spa side.  People who are buying spas are buying the large ones such as Vanguards, Envoys, Grandees, and Vistas.

I'm hoping things pick up come August and September.

What do you mean by the spa side? What other side do you have? Are you referring to above ground pools?

I just got back from the Midwest and have never seen so many above ground pools in my life. All I saw from the plane arriving into O'Hare were blue above ground pools everywhere. Not as popular in California for some reason.
