Title: Bullfrog Spas
Post by: lockpeople on April 29, 2006, 11:24:58 pm
We are building a vacation home and plan to put a spa on a screened in porch. Our plan is to be at the home 1 or 2 weekends a month as well as  an occasional week long vacation. Because we will not be there all of the time, energy efficiency is especially important to us. Of all the dealers we have spoken to, our favorite sells Bullfrogs and another brand. We are intrigued by the uniqueness of the Bullfrog design with their jetpaks. The model we are most interested in is the 552. Does anybody have an opinion of Bullfrog as a brand and the 552 as a model? Thanks.

You'll get plenty of opinions here for sure.  However, not too many Bullfrog dealers around so not too much known.

This is my opinion, take it for what you paid for it:
I think the jet pack thing is a bit gimmicky.  From what I understand, the packs are somewhat expensive so most people don't buy additional ones.  That kind of takes away the biggest selling point.

Terminator mentioned one of is associates sold Bullfrog and said the jets were fairly weak.

Having said that, make sure you wet test the spa.  See how comfortable you find it.  See if you like the jets and how they make you feel.  If you really like all of that and you are comfortable with the dealer, go for it.

I have a Hot Spring Vanguard.  I am now biased to Hot Spring and would probably only buy a Hot Spring from here on out.  I just like what the company as a whole offers and the spas are very well made.  I compared to other brands and felt like things on the Hot Spring were built well.  The jets didn't feel plasticky.  Okay, probably not a real word, but you get my point.

Good luck with your search.  The main thing is to get a spa you feel comfortable in when testing it out.  Don't buy one without testing.   8)

We just ordered the Bullfrog 451 after wet-testing the 552 which we very much liked.   If space restrictions and budget weren't a concern, we would have chosen the 552.  We also selected Bullfrog because of the energy-efficiency and almost leak-proof design.

It seems that Bullfrog is growing at a rapid rate.   I've enclosed a few website links that you may find interesting.

There is one member on this forum (Gair) that already owns a bullfrog.

Good Luck!
