I recently bought a new hot tub that is 4 years old. It is in great shape but I see that people say to replace the ozonator every 5 years or so. I dont want to replace it if it is working properly. How do I know if its working? It is a cal spa ozonator. Before you flame me for buying a Cal Spa, it was used and in great shape without warranty anyway so their crappy customer service and warranty didnt come into play for me.
Thanks Guys

You just go right ahead and be proud of your spa! :)
If it is a UV ozonator, it is surely no longer functioning as the UV bulb needs to be replaced every 1.5 years or so. Once you replace the bulb, you should be happily sniffing ozone to your heart's content. :D

Agreed.
An amp draw can be done if corona type. check with the manufacturer of the ozone, some do swap outs for less money.
Not all are in agreement anymore over the bulb-and-degedation theory of 18-22 months and get a new uv bulb.
