Our first hot tub we got for free...sort of. It was a 1992 model CalSpa that was in a little old ladies rec room which had been a deck on the outside of the house and had been closed in around the hot tub. She just wanted it out and was getting ready to have someone cut it in half to get it out. I dismantled a patio door and got some friends to help me move it out. It cleared the header by 1/2", but came on out, then I spent the rest of the day putting the door back together. We used it for about 5 years, then gave it to our son, and bought a slightly used Jacuzzi J350. We LOVE it. Much better jets and pumps than the Cal Spa, but unlike the older Cal Spa it is temp limited to 104 deg. We would like another degree or two sometimes. We paid $3000 for it, and had to put a new temperature sensor in. I don't think we would opt for a radio. If you are running jets, I doubt you could enjoy a radio. Sometimes I do like the colored LED lights, but most often we sit in the dark. I find the waterfall a little annoying, and usually shut it off.
We live in the Blue Ridge Mtns. in Virgina, and use the tub year round.

I have a 2005 Tiger River Caspain. (prior to that a 1999 Nordic dog dish)
The Caspain s 11 months old
I paid $7200 for it, (all the standard stuff included, and crane delivery). I think the price was just a bit high (maybe by $300, but my wife loved the foot dome so...)
I am very happy with my tub. It fits my needs, and is everything I expected it to be.
No radio.i t came standard with a 3 pos dimming "bug zapper blue" light in the tub. I really like the standard light. :)
I live in Central MA.

1. '06 Reflections Granada (not one you hear about much on this site!)
2. About 1 month
3. 9K plus Uncle Sam's pound of flesh. I shudder to think of the cost for all the other stuff! (Electrical, underdeck roof, motorized privacy screens, concrete shim, towel tree, etc.)
4. LED Light package, no radio. Lights were included in the price but I kinda like 'em. I have wall mounted speakers on the patio next to the tub already so didn't need a radio and it didn't seem worth the cost anyway.
5. Happy so far. Not without some flaws but I doubt there is a "perfect" spa out there, at least not for me.

Why do you ask? Doing a study or are you just curious? --- I am not doing a study. I am just curious because I am looking for a hot tub and I just wanted to know what kind everyone had because you guys all seem to know alot. I never realized hot tubs were so exspensive and that there were so many different dealers, then different models, with different options. I had my pool put in about 3 years ago and even though it cost more money than a hot tub, it was easier for me to decide on what I wanted because I knew what I wanted. With all these choices, I keep changing my mind! LOL!!! I mean I want to buy a "floor" model because I am told they are cheaper, but the floor model I want doesn't have lights or a radio... Do these items really matter? Is it worth $2200.00 to get a "new" one with the lights and radio verses the floor model?
Thanks for all the replies everyone!!! Hopefully I can answer my own questions someday!

Radios and lights and waterfalls are expsenisve options. (They can add $1- $2thousdand to the price. If you are on a tight budget, or don't care, my advice is not to go for these options.
The folks who do have the upgraded features like TV's and radios, enjoy them, but they are definatly a luxary item and are not necessary. If they are important to you and fit your budget then go absolutely consider tubs that offer these upgrades.
Me? I love my no frills tub. :)

I think down the line you may be sitting in the spa and loving it yet you'll think "heck, the stereo is OK and the lights are nice but I sure wish I had that $2200".
If you're talking about 2 like spas where the only tangible difference is the stereo and lights I'd go for the floor model for sure (but that's me).
