Title: Unscientific results - Nature 2
Post by: wmccall on March 25, 2006, 02:06:25 pm
3 months ago, I found Nature 2 for sale on ebay at the cost of $15 each.  I decided with that water change to use one of them. That was early Jan.  Since them I've made the attempt to use a little less dichlor. I still dose after the last use each day. I've never carefully measured that dose but since the last water change I've tried to use 2/3 as much as I normally do.

Now my water looks great. In this 3months I did have one epsisode of cloudy water, but a hit of MPS cleared it right up.

I didn't fool with trying to put the Nature 2 stick inside my filter for fear of it becoming unretrievable, so I just set it in the skimmer basket above the filters.

Has it helped?  I think so.  Has it caused any problems?  Not as far as I know.

It seems to have improved your spelling as well.

Win-win.

I am glad you tired this and find them to aid in your sanitation ....I think any of the silver based mineral cartridges do help but are not a complete substitute for a regular sanitizer .....

I have the Nature2 in one of my filters in conjunction with an ozonator.  The dealer said to use 2 oz Activate each day and to do a 4 oz shock once a week.

I changed my water Feb 15 and have not had a problem.  Crystal clear water with no grainy feel on the tub surfaces and hardly any ring.  And I don't even do the 4 oz shock, just the 2 oz daily.

My pH is easy to maintain although it is most often around 7.2 and I need to bring it up about twice a week.  Also my TA also tends towards the low side.  I add a little baking soda once evey two weeks or so.

That's all I've ever done.

Is this a common problem?

I put a SS eye bolt through my skimmer basket and used a SS fishing leader to hang it from inside the filter.
