We're not here lookin' for trouble! We're just here doin' the SUPER BOWL SHUFFLE!
Da Bears, Da Bears, Da Bears, Da Bears. Da Bears, Da Bears!!!!!!
Legality Statement, Lovie Smith, after his 'Gatorade' dowsing, looked like he'd fallen into a HOT TUB.

I'm actually routin' for 'da bears myself. :)
I'm just having a hard time comin' down from my high after the Colt's victory over that new england team. :D
-

OK WHY NOT, in unison now: New England fans can join in, too.
Bear down Chicago Bears. Make every play clear the way to Victory.....
............Chicago Bears, bear down.
-
I'm kind of hoping both teams lose! :o :o ;D ;D
-
OK, I will be the Colts fan. I love Tony Dungy, and as a kid loved the Colts when they were The Baltimore Colts...So I will say go Colts...
(But I'm still wearing my Eagles green!)
-
Arrrrrrrrrgh! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
In New England, we're waking up to a very sad day...Ouch. The Colts took us down. :(
Still a great game...and I can't say anything bad about the Colts, they came back and played like champs.
Don't know if I can root for them in the SuperBowl though...I'm torn. Which team do I hate more? Probably the bears, so I guess I'll be cheering for Manning and Co. ;)
-
Yeah Drew, it is which do you dislike more...
I had to admit it felt kind of warm and fuzzy watching Da Saints go marching home...after what they did to my Eagles..
I was convinced though that they were destined to be the Superbowl winners.
and I am sorry to say, I still feel the pain of the Superbowl loss to the Patriots in '04, so (sorry Drew), I was glad the Colts pulled it off...
Both games were great football and that is all that we can ask for...no really questionable calls or controversy..just real good football ;) and it is amazing how much more I can enjoy watching with my hubby when there isn't an Eagle player on that field! ;D
-
I'm torn on who to root for in the super bowl. As I mentioened, the colts are good and represent the AFC, but I don't know if I'm adult enough to get over the Manning-Brady rivaly ;) And then there's that bad taste in my mouth called Vineterri.
But the Bears. Ugh. I can't do it...

I was SURE the Colts would break through and put $200 on them -3 pts because I was so confident. Then right before kickoff a friend called and said he wanted to bet the game and didn't care what side because he's a nut. I told him I already bet Indy -3 and he said he'd bet me $50 and take NE +3 and I'm never one for turning away a challenge so now I've got $250 on Indy. I watched in horror as they started to fold their tent like a bunch of circus clowns like they always do against NE in the playoffs. When NE scored to make it 14-3 and immediately intercepted Manning and returned it for a TD to make it 21-3 I'm thinking "how did I bet Indy when NE owns them in the playoffs, am I that stubborna dn ignorant!!". My buddy actually called a few minutes later to be a wise ass and said he'd call off the bet for $45! As Spacoli would say "what a D!¢K".
Ah, what a nice the second half! I never had a doubt!!!!!

Congrats on your $250 windfall. During the BSC (sic) championship game I had 4-4 on a 100 square board. With that I won $100 for halftime.
As you, I and the rest of the forum know...easy come, easy go.
Good luck to you in the Super Bowl.

Sorry Drew - I must admit that I had a huge smile on my face when the Pats lost. Being a Yankee & Giant fan, nothing is more satisfying than watching a Boston team go down! I'm sure the feeling is mutual!!! ;D ;D
GO COLTS!!!

Quite mutual. :-X

And then there's that bad taste in my mouth called Vineterri.
how can you be bitter with Vinateri? He actually didn't want to leave the Pats. He anted to resign but it's they didn't want to give out that kind of money (their choice of course and it's what they've done with other key players) so he signed with Indy for MUCH more than the Pats were willing to pay. It's not like the jumped ship for 10 or 15% more like Johnny Damon ;) ; I think he literally got about 50% more from Indy than NE was willing to pay.

Adam who?

Adam who?
The good thing is your rookie kicker came through and did his part. If he'd have missed a kick in that game with it as close as it was there would be some really unhappy Pats fans over that and he'd really have a monkey on his back.

Thank God the Colts are finally going to the superbowl. At least Brady showed some class in defeat. Did you see BelliPRICK basically give Peyton the shoulder shove at midfield. What a complete and utter poor sport. I guess it fits with his sloppy image. BelliPricks after game interviews just reinforced the truth that he is a complete A.S.S.

Bellaprick. He's an A$$. He coached here in New England and although he get's results, he's a sorry excuse for a person. No class. He just annouced his retirement. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Bill. Although there are/were rumors he was going to be the GM for the Giants....waddya hear Bohms?
AS far as as Vinetarrie, New England fans have a lot of repsect for him, He's a great kicker, and had a great reputation around MA as being a sinerely nice person. It's just we can't stand to see him leave, espically to the colts. so we simply say around here "Adam who?"
Damon? Did someone say Damon? He's hated and shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Vinaterrie. We dis vinaterri with respect, with Damon it's pure hatred.

Are you sure you don't mean the other Bill who coached the Pats, Parcells? I know he retired today!
Otherwise, yes, Bellaprick is an Ass. I saw his post games comments last night and he just seems like he hates the world.
-
Bellaprick. . He just annouced his retirement.
I see where Bill Parcells resigned and retired but haven't heard about NE's Bill.
(Spatech, I need to be faster with my 'Post' finger)

You're right Drew....he's an A$$ - we don't want him.....keep him up there in Pats country! Coughlin's not going anywhere but I would love to see Parcells back....he's awesome.

Damnit. I blame the cold medication.....you got me to say belaprick and everything too.... :D dmanit.
Parcells is the a-hole I was talking about. :P
Belachick is a decent guy. I didn't see him give a shoulder to Manning. (?) What did he say? He's a quiet, no nonsense guy, some folks don't get his dry manner, but he's known to be a decent guy...
-
Parcells is NOT an A$$!!
Go to the videotape...Cburk is right, Bellaprick DID give Manning a shoulder check at mid field after the game. NO CLASS!!! :P

Parcells is to an A S. S :P
you got a link to the video I remember watching Manning weave throught the crowd, and we thought he was looking for Brady to shake hands, but I didn't see a shove. ?
Oh, if I didn't already say it....Parcells is an A. s s. ;D

BELLAPRICK is an A.S.S.!! :P He did it.... Manning went to shake his hand and he wound up just patting Bellaprick's stomach as he was walking by after Bellaprick gave Manning the shoulder check. Classless.
No I don't have a link!
The only A.S.S. move Parcells ever made was going to coach Dallas. But that was an A.S.S. move, that doesn't make him an A.S.S. like Belachick. :P

Oh Parcells an A.S.S. You know it. I know it. And the world knows it. :P
did a quick googling around and I didn't see anything mentioned about this so-called shoving.
Parcells is an A.S.S.
-
On a side note....Jon Gruden (TB's head coach) is VERY EASY on the eyes! Just in case you needed to know that. :-*
-
Drew - I wouldn't necessarily call it a "shove" more like a shoulder check.
You LOVE Parcells and you know it. You secretly love the Yanks and the Giants too. Don't worry, I won't tell your Mass friends.

Gotta give you that one!! ;D ;D ;D ;D :P :P :P

I think everyone is misinterpreting the exchange between Belachick and Manning. He and Dungy actually had a long embrace at the end. We get to see a whole other side of Belachick up here and he is quite an engaging person with a good sense of humor.
If the Patriots can't be in it, then I'm rooting for the Colts all the way. Aside from their president Bill Poulian, they are a first rate organization with talented players who are coached well. They deserve to be in the Super Bowl and I, for one, certainly hope they win.

Ok, so Tony - you are a Pats fan and you are in agreement that there was a weird exchange between Belachick and Manning, correct? So now we're getting somewhere.
Drew - you are too funny!!! ;D ;D Keep dreaming!!! :P :P

"Weird Exchange" ?
A little while ago, you were calling it a shove and ready to have Bellchik brought up on charges for beating up you boy Manning. Now it's a wierd exchange? ::)
and for what it's worth Bellichik could beat the snot of out manning. and parcells. At the same time. ;) ;) But he wouldn't, because he's a classy guy. But he could, if he had too. He's like Walker Texas Ranger, Jebus, Batman and Patrick Swaze all rolled into one.
-
Yeah...it was a little wierd. But I will tell you, Belachick has a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Manning and the Colts. It looked to me like he was way too emotional to talk and needed to get out of the spotlight quickly.
-
It was a shoulder check. Tony, being a Pats fan, said that it was a "weird exchange" so my point was that even a Pats fan is acknowledging that something happened. In my mind and others who saw it, it wasn't a "weird exchange" but a shoulder check on behalf of the classy Belachick.
Belachick can sit on Manning and cause harm. Parcells can sit on Belachick and cause harm. ;D
-
Tony - you're right....I think he just wanted to get off of the field ASAP which MIGHT explain it. I still don't think it's right.
-
Not to completely change the subject. :o
But I just heard that ANOTHER Cincinnati Bengal was arrested, I didn't catch the name but he is the 9th one. They got him on Mary Jane possession.
That is an organization that could use a lobotamy.
-
It was definetly a shoulder check.
-
Between Cincinnati and San Diego...they must be in a contest for bad boys in the NFL. ;D
-
It was definetly a shoulder check.
This just in.
The AP has reported that Bill Belicheck has signed a contract to play Forward for the Boston Bruins!!! ;D
-
You guys are killing me with your spelling of "Vinatieri". And you call yourselves fans????
;D
-
At least they didn't call themselves Italians! :o
-

... and Belichick! :)
As far as the handshake/shoulder check, I thought it was a crazy environment with all the photogs rushing the field like fans trying to tear down the goalpost. None of the players/coaches looked comfortable, or able to find the folks they were looking for. It was definitely an awkward exchange, but I think you'd have to be a Pats hater to assume that Belichick intended anything negative.

I agree that the scene was chaotic BUT keep in mind this is the guy who earlier this year wouldn't shake hands after the game with his ex-coach who took over for the Jets. Sometimes people who are gifted with great minds in one area of expertise are seriously lacking in social skills and I think this guy is the poster child for such people. He has the charm and charisma of Cujo. I saw his post game interview and he is what he is, a gruff curmudgeon, but at least he's consistent.

Colts 31
Bears 17
:-?
Bluesman 8-)

"Thumbs up" for Manning. :D
http://www.charter.net/news/read.php?ps=973&id=13410959&_LT=HOME_LARSDCCLM_UNEWS
Btw, I'm still routin' for da bears but I think the Colts will win in convincing fashion.
-
Well, the NFL apologized today to the Patriots for the pass interference call against Ellis Hobbs in the end zone that resulted in the Colts getting the ball on the one yard line, ultimately scoring and getting the two point conversion. Apprarently "face guarding" hasn't been a violation for some time and there should have been no penalty on the play.
Not that it makes any difference now...just makes it more painful.
