Tub is supposed to be here the 1st or 2nd week of March, hope we get an onion snow so I can sit in the tub while the flakes are flying and wonder what the poor people are doing............Now I just have to figure out how to pay for the tub until it shows up........... 8)

ah, paying for it!!!! I finally purchased after a year of looking in Feb 05.  The tub was to be delivered in August.  I had a long time to plan outside work patio, garden, electrical etc etc........ and I had to figure out how to pay for all of it.

My wife had agreed as long as it did not effect our pay checks.  So February March and April I worked 400 hours of overtime.  Paid for upon delivery!!!!!!! how sweet it is for the almighty overtime.

I missed out on alot of stuff, however did not work any extra from the day it was delivered, lol.   The wife is still trying to think of things to get to keep me out of the house.

Phil..the onion snow is NOT the nor'easter we are expecting this weekend!  The onion snow is usually a spring snow, wet and without much accumulation, that melts away fast. I think the name has to do with planting time for spring onions, but I know it as the best time to seed your lawn or put lime down!
Don't worry spiman, the groundhog says you have plenty of time to enjoy the new tub in the snow! ;)

You are basically right Bonibelle, I always thought it meant a snowfall after the spring onions are planted, along the same lines as "indian summer".

I think I have a new job lined up, that will help with the bills. If not I'll send the wife out to get a second job while I will have to deal with the difficult "break in" period for the new tub. 8)

Spiman, you have made me feel really bad for you.  :'(
So tomorrow when it is snowing like crazy, my son and I will have a snowy soak in your honor...Actually this will be our first opportunity to soak while it is snowing. Hubby and the oldest son have gone away with the Scouts this weekend and the younger one and I will have the tub to ourselves during the big storm!  :D

Ok, Spiman..the snow has started and it is really coming down! I spent the morning splitting fire wood and stacking several days worth close to the house.  I really need that soak.....My youngest son and I will see how cool it really is to soak in a nor'easter snow storm and I will report back....As tough as it is to wait for your tub, you will see that it is well worth it... ;)

Boni...might I suggest wearing a baseball cap when you soak in a snow storm. Last snowstorm I wanted the "full" experience. While my husband wore a cap, I didn't. He was able to see, while I couldn't. It would greatly enhance the experience if I could keep my eyes open...lol. By the way where are you that its snowing already? We're still waiting patiently here in Poconos, Pa. ::)

I am sure you have snow by now, Sunny. It is just starting to stick to the roads here but my deck and tub are covered! Our plans have changed a bit so I am not so sure that we will make it out tonight ... :'(  I will keep your suggestion in mind. I usually wear a ski cap because I have a problem with my ears in the cold. Wonder how that would work out..ski cap and baseball cap..should be interesting. Thanks

Spiman, the plans did change last night and my husband and older son came home because they were looking for blizzard conditions in New York this morning. Ended up baking muffins and watching a movie and no one made it out...I guess I will wait for you to get your tub and we can all go out during a snow storm!  We did clean the top off about 4 times and still, this morning there was over 10 inches of snow on top!  If the wind doesn't get too bad this afternoon, I am sure we will hit the tub. We will all need it after all the shoveling we need to do! ;)

Tubbing during a "snow storm" doesn't do it for me.  Light falling snow is wonderful, but wind and lots of precipitation make it very uncomfortable.  Snowing pretty good here, wind is howling and high tide is comming.  I think I'll watch it all from inside the house.

At 10 PM last night, I looked out and wanted to see a heavy snow fall without the wind. Around my area, Trenton, NJ, it was barely snowing and I was disappointed. I've been waiting since the summer for a nice heavy snow without the wind to sit in the tub, I've heard it's knd of surreal. I've been out there in wind and I will NOT go into the tub again with wind above a breeze ... BRRRR!!!!

I woke up at 8 this morning to find the tub and deck had at least 10" of snow with drifts much higher than that. I've shoveled the deck and cover but there's the wind.

As you said Bonibelle ... maybe tonight!

We spent the whole morning shoveling and blowing the snow so we can get out and go to church tonight.
Hubby got done, sat on one of our patio benches in a pile of snow exhausted! A short time later, he jumped in the tub (and actually took a short snooze). My 15 year old decided to roll in the snow, make snow angels in his bathing suit and them jump in the tub too!  I guess later tonight I may finally get out with the younger one.
There is really something special about the tub in the snow! Like you Phil, I still want to try it while it is actually snowing.  :-/

The only things that make tubing unbearable for me are wind and rain.  Snow is fine.  Unfortunately it's been windy most of the week with wind and snow last night.  I refereed 5 basketball games and was really looking forward to a soak.  Hopefully the winds die down this evening.
