Title: heading south, what about tub?
Post by: nicker on February 06, 2006, 11:13:34 am
We are taking off for a week to the sunny south.  Any tips to keep my water clear and clean?  I was thinking of just adding a few extra scoops of Dichor to get the clorine up.  And maybe turning the tub down a few degrees.

Should I just leave the temp at 101?

I would shock and balance the tub and clean the filters before leaving for a  week.

You could turn down the temp to save a bit, but personally for just  1 week,  wouldn't think it's a major concern, and actually would rather have the tub at 101  just in case the power went out, but I think we are splitting hairs.

Make sure the cover is locked.

But I think we are splitting hairs.  If your water is in decent shape and you have a 24 circ pump and ozinator, 1 week should be fine without doing anything. IMO.

oh Make sure the cover is locked.

And have fun down south.

Like drewstar said, shock it and don't bother with the temp.  It'll be just fine.  Whereabouts down South are you headed?
