Title: Thought on Thermo Spas vs. alternate choices
Post by: jim_mc on January 30, 2006, 09:57:56 am
Hello-

I actually have a job interview with Thermo Spas and want to sound intelligent (if that's possible  ;)). It's for a corporate sales manager position.

If you have any feedback-- on their quality vs. their competition and particularly if you had a 'free on site inspection', I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Thanks.

The average opinion here is that they are average quality at a premium price.  Over the last couple of years, I haven't heard any complaints about the tubs, just the salesmen.  Its been years since I talked to one though.

What does the corporate sales manager do?
Is that some type of salaried headquarters office position, or is that what they call the guys who go door to door?
Just curious.

It's all about the sales presentation in this case. If they make you a salary offer and you balk at it I wonder if the person making the offer calls their manager and comes up with a better offer that's only good if it's acted on immediately.

I think they give you a better offer if you let them put a sign in your front yard and let other candidates come by .   ;D

You are correct.  The salesman offered to reduce the price to let them take pictures of my installation for their use.  He even wanted to be able to bring people over to look at it.  He didnt' say it, but I bet he would have asked if they could wet test it in my house.  Even after the reduction they were still over-priced by several thousand dollars.

If you have ever had success as a salesman at a cheesey used car lot, you will make a good Thermospa rep.  Make sure to wear and aviator sun glasses, a red plaid jacket with white shoes and white belt.
