Shocking with the Dichlor, will not make you ill or ruin your tub, but if you are using Bromine, I would stick with the MPS Shock.

I have seen no ill effects from shocking a bromine spa with dichlor.

The only negative I see to using the MPS (pH around 2) and Bromine tablets (pH around 4) is that you are going to need more TA & pH + than you would using the tablets with dichlor (pH 6-7)

I can vouch for that.  Between Bromine and MPS I have to adjust my alk and Ph quite a bit.

If you want to shock with dichlor in a bromine spa you can go right ahead without hesitation. It's perfectly fine and if the water is a bit iffy I'd personally prefer that route over MPS.

What would you recomend for dosage?

My tub is 395 Gal. rated.... My guess would be 3Tbls?
