Title: What did I do (to the cover)?
Post by: Brookenstein on January 05, 2006, 05:47:51 pm
Hmm... so I went ahead and put the Tri-X filters in the dishwasher this morning.  I then ran the Clean cycle (10min).  I added some Clarifier then ran the clean cycle, when it was done I put the cover on and put jets on for about 30 minutes.  I just came out to shut off the jets and the cover looked like the Gas-X commercials where the peoples belly shoot out.  I've ran the jets on with the cover before and nothing happened, so I just don't get it.

Not to fear.  When a tight seal is made, the vinyl poofs up with air.  It will dissipate quickly.

If you look at your cover, it has small "weep holes" on the underside.  The air goes in those holes and gets trapped in the vinyl.  Mine has done that before on occasion.  It doesn't always do it, but it has always gone down on its own.

Put 2 or 3 bottles of Beano or Digel in your spa water, crank up the pumps, and close the cover.  That should de-gas your cover.    ;)
