Be sure to watch Headline news today. They are showing a power station on fire and it is rather spectacular. Unfortunately its 1/4 mile from my house and we may not have power for 3 days. (at least its not cold. See you when I can!)

It's been awful quiet here the past few weeks and I thought I'd stir the pot a bit. :D
My tub will be here tomorrow... might not be up to temp until Wednesday, but I should be able to start enjoying it soon. ;)

I was kinda quiet about it as it was a very good deal. There are a lot of lurkers out there and I didn't want anyone else to search around and find it then offer the guy more money for it. Anyway, I got a less than a year old Envoy.
I'm gonna have to make lots of noise the next 11 days or so, because I will be gone for the 20 or so after that. I must make an impression before I go so that you don't forget me. :-* ;D

Power is back up across the street, but it might still be 2-3 days for me. Thank God for neighbors with unsecured wireless internet. I can recharge my laptop battery in the car and can sponge off this internet for awhile :) I hope some of you saw this video on Headline news. I was awoke by a loud sound at around 5:30am this morning and noticed the power was out. I immediately turned on the Kerosene heater to keep the house warm, fogetting it was supposed to hit 70 today, but I have tropical fish to protect. It shouldn't hit below freezing until Wednesday so hopefully it will be back before then. At least I know my hot tub was at 104 at 5am this morning. My legs are already aching knowing I probably won't use it tonight.

Congrats Brook. The Envoy is a great spa. I would have bought one if it would have fit all of us. I really liked that model. You'll enjoy it for many years.

You will like the Envoy!! Lots of power, easy to clean filters( rinse with a hose every 5-6 weeks and put in dishwasher at water changes). We have had ours about 8mos very easy to care for. good luck with the delivery

Well, I stopped by the store to check on some things and read this thread. As I settle down for the evening and watch the Colts hang onto a lead over the Steelers, I'm watching my SoCal thermometer plummet to close to 50!!!!!
Good thing the ol' 580 is still at 101, and waiting for the family. Until then I'll have to fantasize about our Brook & Cappy, and be forever thankful that Terminator has stepped in to keep me and the rest of us in line..... 8)

Now I have to go to ESPN and find out who won the MNF game.
Just less than 24 hours after it happened, all power has been restored. But for my area, that is a temporary thing. Nearby areas were shifted to other grids, but for my neighborhood, they trucked in a transformer and left it on the back of a semi trailer while the mess is being cleaned up. So we may go down again when repairs are complete. OVer 7 million dollars damage to the substation, I guess my bill will be going up.
The electric company did a great job getting us back up and keeping us informed, but I have one complaint. Just like last Christmas, power was restored to everywhere except within one block of my house and my little street was the absolute last to come back on.
Now does anyone have a tape of SURFACE, VEGAS, and MEDIUM?
We entertained ourselves by renting the DVD movie Interpreter, and watched that on our laptop till its battery died, so at 11pm last night we we were all in the back seat of our Sante Fe watching the last 10 minutes. That was a good movie.
