Title: 70 degrees at 8:30 in November??
Post by: LtDan on November 15, 2005, 08:41:57 pm
Pretty strange for Ohio. Took advantage and got in a water change. Kegorator is close to being done and it sure is nice to be able to try to kill it in a t-shirt sitting on the deck watching the tub heat up in (close to ) the middle of November.

Got a 20 inch LCD TV from HHgregg for under 300 bucks last weekend. Talk about portable, it only weighs a couple pounds. Now I'll be able to watch the the Buckeyes put the smackdown on the heathens from the state up north on Saturday.

Now if only the Blue Jackets would learn to play hockey my season ticket money wouldn't seem like such a bad investment....

I wonder if Federov can still play. I liked Tyler Wright though.   I got my change in last week when it was also around 70.  I'm ready for snow though, I have my Mad River Season Pass.   Most of all Muck Fichigan!

Tyler was one of the handfull that played with passion every time he hit the ice. There really isn't a shortage of talent on the team, they just need to play like they really want to win. I miss the guy's we've traded that played hard, Odelien, Sillinger, Marshall, Whitney, etc...

Oh well, tub is up to 94, rain should be done shortly, beer is still cold.

Things could be worse.

Don't worry, we'll be sending you cold very soon.  You're about a day or two behind us in MO.  Low tomorrow of 19F.

You folks in Canada, quit laughing.

If wait until you play the Blues, you can guarantee yourself happy times.  Oh how the pretty good have fallen.

Kegorator? :)

I've been toying with this idea for a while. However,  probably wont come to fruitition until my wet bar is installed, (yea, like that will happen soon. Let's just say  it's very low on the "Honey-do" list).  But, I am curious, are you building one from an old fridge or going with the store bought units that i see for about $500?  With all these goodies (TV, keg) is your tub located inside, or covered?

What a difference a day makes. 40F today, went to the tub and it was 100, even though it was set to 104!  No!!!, please not now.

I made a 4 tap kegerator out of a converted chest freezer, if you're interested in something like that, I'd be happy to share.

Hot tub is outside. My bedroom is 1st floor, added deck and hot tub, took out windows and put in french doors from bedroom. I keep a 15 foot piece of co-ax to take a tv out and set on the deck (top of tub is level with deck).

Kegorator is on wheels, kitchen also opens onto deck. Got the kegorator from www.beveragefactory.com
475 bucks delivered to the door with 4 year in home service. A keg of LaBatts is 80 bucks (15.5 gal) and provides 160 12 oz beers.

Hymbaw: I'll give you the Red Wings, I was at both games but...
Q: Where was O.J. hiding right before the famous white Bronco chase?
A: On the University of Michigan campus. That's the last place you would find a football player.

Q: How do you make University of Michigan cookies?
A: Put them in a big Bowl and beat for 3 hours.

We ended up with about an inch, if that.  Of course the news media predicted up to 8".  It was pretty icy, and cold, but the temp is slowly on the increase, to back up to the 40's.

I guess we all got spoiled by the warm weather in the past few weeks.  One week ago today it was 60 degrees!

OK -  so I have to retract this statement.  Who'd have thought Sanford would shut out Columbus.  Sorry if I got your hopes up.  I figured when they announced the Federov acquisition (he being one of many Blues killers) that you'd have it all sewn up.

I get a different keg each time. Many of the small brews are only available in 1/3 barrels. Some distributors only sell to licensed vendors (bars) so you wind up paying lots more. LaBatts is great keg beer for football parties and such where a micro would be wasted on a bunch of drunks (me included). The LaBatts reference was to demonstrate the economy of a kegorator. I killed the last keg (LaBatts, enjoyed every minute of it) and currently have a 1/3 barrel of Harp. Next is Guinness since my C02 is getting low and I'll have to have a Guinness gas mix put in (nitrogen/C02) and the Guinness spout to properly pour it.

Sorry if I offended your refined sense of taste.

I know it gets plenty cold north of here in Canada but it seems all the people live on or near the coasts so it's hospitable. Above us here in Minnesota there are no people. Just Moose and tundra. :)
