Title: WHO THE ^%#@! ARE YOU?
Post by: Steve on March 12, 2005, 02:26:38 pm
So I thought it's been a while and I thought it might be a good time to pass on who we all are, the company we're associated with, location and any other details you want to share. It's great to know for the newcomer's here as well as any new info we might not be aware of.

For you reg's that aren't industry people and are educated consumers, state your spa and how long you've had it and so on.

I'll start:

Company: Hydropool Hot Tubs & Swim Spas
Home: Edmonton Alberta Canada
Capacity: Dealer development partner for western Canada
History: Worked retail in one of Beachcomber's most successful stores for almost 9 years here locally but have taken on my new position with Hydropool as of Oct 2004.
I've been posting on this board for close to 3 years.

I'm back and I'll play!

Company: East Texas Spa
Home: Longview, TX
Capacity: Branch Manager for a retail spa dealership selling HotSpring, Tiger River, Hot Spot, and Solana Spas
History: Was a manufacturer's rep for several companies (IBM, JST, Chicago White Metal, etc.)  I got tired of the high tech industry and decided to do something fun.  Let's see, what would I like to sell?  I got on the internet and sent resumes to cigar, bourbon, ice cream, chocolate, golf club, and gun companies.

One day, I heard Rush Limbaugh and Paul Harvey talking about HotSpring Spas.  That sounded fun!  Sent a resume to Watkins, the national sales manager called and asked if I would like a retail store.  I said yes.  Met with the local dealer, I liked them, they liked me, they built me a store, and I've been here 5 years.

What a great job we in the industry have!  I sell a great product by a great company and I have many, many customers who have improved their quality of life by using a spa I help provide.  I'm sure everyone else here feels the same way, and they should.

I just spent a wonderful week with some of my peers and came away feeling even better about my place in the world.  It has been the best (working) week of my life!

I'll play the name game too!!!

Company: Liverpool Pool & Spa
Home: Syracuse, NY
Capacity: Store Manager.  We sell Pools, Patio Furniture and Spas, as well as do water analysis, parts, and in store service.
History:  Been in the pool and spa biz for 3 years.  Started as a retail associate doing whatever was asked of me whether it was water analysis, parts, selling furniture, stocking, cleaning, etc...  Worked in the restaurant industry for close to 6 years.  First as a server and busboy/dishwasher, the as a head server.  Also worked at the Syracuse Zoo as a supervisor of Kids Birthday parties.  Worked one year for a non-profit environmental group.  Graduated with a bachelor of Science in natural Resource Mgmt & Policy from Paul Smith's College in 2000 and also earned an associates of applied science in Ecology & Environmental Technology from Paul Smith's in 1998.

I LOVE my job, and the people I work for.  I try to give as much unbiased information that I can, although I will admit that I tend to lean toward the brands we sell: Dimension One, Caldera, Nordic and Hawkeye.  And That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I guess I'll chime in.

Company is National Pools & Spas

Location: Princeton, NJ, with 4 other locations within 55 miles.

Capacity: Whatever it takes...

Began in the spa business back in 1979. Dad owned a pool store, didn't really care much for pools. Still don't.

Selling Sundance Spas since 1982, Marquis on and off since 1983, Nordic Hot Tubs since 1997 and soon to be adding Artesian Spas to a new location.

I love the fact that as a retailer, we deal with so many different issues regarding chemical problems and/ or concerns with all types of spas. Don't get very involved personally with sales anymore, although I seem to sell about 50-70 spas a year.

I just enjoy the retail selling environment, my family, although I still don't spend alot enough time with them, I seem to be always working or at least at the office. And I still love the game of golf, even though, I admit to not being very good at it. It is truly a pleasurable career, this hot tub thing.

I think as I go into my mid 40's I will spend less time in the business and more time with my family. I think I've earned it.

AND, I am really enjoying this forum, this is my daily relaxation, while in the offfice. Thanks to all of you...
Keep up the good work!

hottubber.. ;D

History: I started in the business four years ago as a water tester and worked my way up. I love my job and the products that I sell. The company I work for is a full service company and stands behind what the say and sell, so I don't come to work worried about having to forgive myself for cheating people out of hard earned money.

I'm not in the spa biz, but am an Optima owner since spring of 2003.

I live in the 'burbs' outside of Minneapolis.
I work for a very large insurance company home office, in the IT area, mostly testing software modifications.

In addition to hot tubbing, I also like to brew beer, and build things around the house.

Most recently: have been a sales manager for a 50,000 sq ft store in NW Indiana that sold Hot Spring, Artesian, Freeflow as well as above ground pools, pool tables etc...

Just accepted a position with LA Spas to be their territory rep for IN, MI, Ohio, & KY.  I start that Mar 28.

Married. 4 kids: 14 yr old boy, 10 yr old girl, & 4 yr old twins (boy/girl) so lots craziness around the house.   :)

Well since other consumers have added to this ...

I've wanted a tub now for about 10 years - finally am able to afford one and will be getting an Artesian Grand Cayman.

I live in NJ.

I run a Biomedical Engineering Department for a 3rd party company at a local hospital. I've been in the medical repair business for 20 years.

I own an above ground pool (bought it at hottubber's store 4 years ago) so I'm familiar with water chemistry and since I was a "closet" hot tub (want to be)er - I've lurked around Doc's site for A LONG time trying to learn about tubs and recently here as well. And yes I've learned a lot!

I'm hoping that owning a tub will be as relaxing (I want it for stress relief and minor aches and pains) as people say and hoping it will be as easy (or easier) as owning the pool.

OK

Name, Joanna aka/Spahappy

Company, Keller Hearth & Home  Products
Located in Dickinson N.D.

I've sold Colaman spas for 11 years and recently brought in Jacuzzi Premium as a second line.

I also sell gas and wood fireplaces and stoves. I'm the manager of the smaller of two stores and live in the town I grew up in.

I have three amazing teenagers two boys and a girl who are, 14, 16, and 17 years old.

I've worked in the oilfeild as a mudlogger on a drilling rig, a radio ad salesperson, a travel agent,  and owned and operated a coffee shop.

I've been with Keller Hearth & Home for the last 11 years and I love my job! I get to work with homeowners as well as contractors, with the sales and installation of fireplaces. I can't spell, and I don't type very well but I know my way around a constuction site, and I can read a blueprint,.... and man can I talk!!!

My favorite part of my job is when I'm training new hottub owners the day they get their new spa. The kids are excited the parents are excited, and everyone is happy!

What other industry could you feel so good about selling something that will change peoples lives in such a positive way.

I've been on this forum since last May, and have tremendous respect for so many of the posters here.

Great post Steve! It was nice to come back to after the show I just worked. :-*

Bill,

I grew up in this area.  We don't typically get 26" at one shot (you must have brought it!)  This area's not too bad, semi-rural, close to Philly and Manhattan...  Joel got it wrong in his song, but hey, at least Allentown got some publicity.

Avid consumer here......maybe too avid, eh bubba stu?
Defender of Master Spas (trying to sound like a superhero--failed miserably!)
In reality, I have an '04 Master Spa LSX that has given me zero problems and has given me MUCH pleasure.  The spa (and the rest of my life) is located in Shell Point, FL, a little coastal hamlet just south of Tallahassee on the Gulf of Mexico, specifically Apalachee Bay.  As you can guess, I'm an avid windsurfer--actually an old (52 years young) windsurfer so the spa is GREAT therapy after a windsurfing session....and all my windsurfing friends, old and young alike, agree especially since my house about a 2 minute drive from the beach where we surf.
I've got a wonderful wife and a 13 year old daughter (I'm identifying with you re: crazy, salesy!) and I'm a database administrator (aka, GEEK) with a state agency in Tallahassee.
This forum is one of the main reasons I've had so much success with my spa selection and maintenance.  Great place, great people--I just try to be a great one, too.   8)

We bought our Artesian Grand Bahama after wet testing various models and brands.  Loved many of them, but liked the Artesian dealer the best.  And he said all the brands we wet tested were great.  And go with the one that felt the best.  Thanks to this site, we have really enjoyed the spa and the help from here.

I am a retired Robotics Engineer with emphasis on Plastics, fiberglass etc in the aerospace industry.  My wife is a 5th grade school teacher, retiring this year herself.  Have three great kids, (all adults now with their own families) and so far 3 great grandkids.  11, 5, and 2 yrs. old.

Thank you so much for this forum, we have learned very valuable info and really appreciate all the help.  Can't contribute much, but sure enjoy reading and learning.

We live in the state of Utah, at an elevation of 5000 feet.  really love the snow, and summers.  Boating and the spa are our favorite hobbies.

Another consumer: Jaccuzzi J345, first tub and very pleased with it.

Occupation: Police Lieutenant in a suburb of Columbus Ohio, I have patrol, swat, k9, part time and reserve operations.

Over the years I've managed to break 11 parts of my body, 7 at once in 1998 (no, you probably won't "beat" the cruiser with lights and siren on through the intersection), and as I get older (hit 40) they become more bothersome. The hot tub has been a godsend, I'm in it every night.

Found the forum when looking for info prior to my tub purchase and it has made the ownership experience easier and more enjoyable.

Kidding!!!   ;)

My name is Jonathan and I own a HS Vista

Company: I'm a VP-Information Technology for a freight logistics company in Northern NJ for close to 20 years,  before IT was in fashion!

Home: 15 miles north of New York City in Rockland County NY.

Status: Married for close to 17 years to the same wonderful woman, and have 2 kids.  I  am also a photographer who likes to spend money on new gear!

General: I bought my new Vista at the end of this past summer and have been enjoying it very much.  This board has taught me many things and I am grateful to all of the positive contributors and sometimes funny posts that I have a blast reading.  I wish I could contribute  more but being a newbie I have a tough time adding anything since I am the one always asking the questions!

"For you reg's that aren't industry people and are educated consumers, state your spa and how long you've had it and so on."

My name is Rich, and I own a 2003 Caldera Geneva Utopia. I love my spa,and feel with 2 years of ownership under my belt, that my wife and I made a very good purchasing decision regarding our spa.

We have had 2 minor cosmetic issues relating to the spa,and our dealer handled/repaired em in a professional, and almost timely fashion.  1 being the heat-sink under the primary controller(replaced with a new/updated version). 2 being the secondary controller (the rubber cover to one of the buttons was deterioating),which, they replaced the entire secondary controller.

Profession--- Tile/Stone mason
History of profession--- 19+ years
Home--- Sarasota FL

Look forward to sharing memories/experiences with newbies, and oldbies, for many months/years to come on this spa board, and other spa boards  :)

P.S. ... Sue and I will be in Vegas April 7th-12th,if anyone is interested in hooking up etc :)

P.S.S. ... almost forgot, when they delivered the tub, they shipped the wrong color cover (we ordered redwood color cover, they shipped a grey one).  We waited approximately 3 weeks to receive the redwood colored one,as our dealer explained that Caldera at that time, was backlogged with orders etc.

Just tonight decided on Artesian Grand Bahama!!

Past experience:

Tiger River 1993: great spa, never had maintence issues, although would stay too hot in the summer despite all interventions.  Then moved.

Cal Spa 1998: Placed onto deck via helicopter. Overall good spa. Then moved.

Coast Spa 2000: Big mistake! Leaks and replaced 5 pumps in 4 years. Dealer refusing to do warranty work.  Then moved.

And now....

Artesian Grand Bahama 2005!! Woo Hoo! 48 jets, 3 pumps, and 5 year warranty. $7495. Can't wait for it to be delivered!

I hope we won't be moving again soon!

After watching the postings from afar, I have decided to jump into the pool.  Location: Waukesha Wi.     Retail store that came to being after starting to build inground pools in 1967. I am the retail manager and we have 20 year round employees. If you can't tell, I am new to this and can't type or format this is well as the esteemed members of this forum. I enjoy working retail, making customers happy, and helping people make an informed, rational decision, not just to sell something to make a buck. Archery is my passion when not in the store, both real life hunting, and 3 D target.  To answere the question, we sell Caldera Spas and feel that we have one of the best lines in the business.

I am Rob Da Consumer....From Georgia

Still searching for a tub, but I have decided to re-invent my whole backyard after going to a backyard/patio show in Atlanta.

Originally from NJ, moved to GA this past summer, don't miss NJ except for the Shore.

Hottubber used to shop at your EB location..until a salesmen lied his butt off to me, then went elsewhere from that point on. My sister did buy a pool from you from your Princeton location though. :) She is very happy.

Not sure what tub I will buy as of yet, since I decided to re-invent my whole back yard I will have to wait until next year, so now I am just surfing around and reading up.

Married 8 years, 3 children, work the overnight and coach soccer for 7 year old screaming girls.

Any Georgia dealers feel free to send me a message so when I am ready I will give your product a dip. (lori's advice  ;) )

been around pools all my life I think I used to be a fish, either that or a bottle of beer.  :P

and thank god for bubbles.  :D

I am a newbie.  Looking for my first spa.  My parents had one when I was a kid for about 15 years, and just got a replacement about a year ago.  I never really used it as a kid, but my parents use(d) it daily.

I am a mom to 2 boys, a dalmation, and a 3 legged cat.  I enjoy skiing and golf.  We bought a house in August and I'm working at getting the yard to be a peaceful escape.

I live in SoCal and my lot is too small for a pool, so I want a spa that we will keep cool in the summer.  This way the kids can enjoy it and I don't have to be in a plastic pool with 8 inches of cold hose water.  Figure its the best solution for all of us.

Plus, as I'm reaching the ripe old age of 30 my body isn't what it used to be, lol.  Who am I kidding, my body has been crap for years.   :)

Brooke

BTW, I love the good nature humor of this site.  It is very refreshing.   :D

A happy consumer here...

Name;  Mike or Michael

Location;  South central Pennsylvania

Hot tub;  After comparing cost and wet testing various tubs, we purchased a Coleman 471 Deluxe for our Christmas present this year. My only regret was not having the chance to see Spahappy and her co-worker give their bikini sales pitch before my decision. I believe the demonstration would have persuaded me to go with the most expensive model ;) Seriously though, the knowledge and guidance from the kind people on this forum helped us wade through the multitude of choices and now that we’re owners, it's a great source for information on how to keep my hot tub water sparkling clean so our friends and family can enjoy it with us.

Family status;  My wife and I have been married for 24 aggrevating (I mean) wonderful years. We have three beautiful daughters that are grown up and gone but luckily, they’re still living close to home. My faithful companion is Bear, our golden retriever and Bear’s best friend is Zoey, my daughter’s golden retriever pup.

Personal info;  I work as a cad and graphics designer in the corrugated industry and my wife is a registered nurse. In the evenings, she tries to keep up with the housework and my time will be spent doing yard work, building stuff out of wood, custom welding, or cutting firewood. Our weekends and vacation time during the summer is spent at our cottage along the river.

Habits/ Hobbies;  Well… this is a long list but they include drinking beer, fishing, fly fishing, fly tying, hunting, training beagles, shooting sporting clays, canoeing, kayaking, and playing golf once in a while. I normally don’t have enough time leftover, but I enjoy building contemporary Kentucky long-rifles too.

Comments;  Normally, I wouldn’t share my personal info on line like this but I’m glad that Steve thought of asking. Some interesting people share this forum and knowing a little more about each other makes the on-line experience better for everyone involved. Maybe the next step would be to share pictures ? I know we’re all in shock from Autoplay’s pic so maybe it should be ladies first  :-*

Have been salivating over hot tubs for 4+ years now.

Found this forum by accident; but have learned a lot.

Favourite brands so far: Beachcomber, Hot Springs, Tiger River, D1.

Part of the reason for being on the sidelines so far (not owning yet) is figuring out if my wife and I will stay where we are (small 30 ft lot). If we do then it is a 7' x 7' max size tub for us. We may go the Softtub 300 route for now.

I'm buying one because my sis-in-law had one and has back problems like me (I've had 5 back surgeries.... three levels fused L3-4 and l4-S1 and a partridge in a pear tree  ;D ) so I'm wanting to buy one as well...ya'll might have seen me ranting earlier and I now am calmer and have worked out all the kinks in my "wet test" plans. Looking at several spas coleman, artic, artesian, bullfrog, Hot springs, caldera. so I'll be testing my heart out Friday!! I'm 41 with my best friend for almost 9 years. Two great boys my oldest lives in Wisc. he's currently in school for computers, my baby boy is 19 and in a world of his own with the punk look and the piercings and the wild behavior...... I guess I don't want to go into that. That's about it..now you know all about backpains (please no stalkers! lol)

My feet aren't wet yet, but I just had delivery of a 2004 Sundance Cameo... so I'm of course an almost happy consumer only in the "spa" of "spatopia."

I live in North Jersey, work for BMW of North America as a Business Intelligence Architect, so really I'm just an all around computer guy doing fun stuff at a fun company.  I'm a contractor, so nope, I don't get a car.

I also run a wine website in my spare time with forums sort of like this.   I'm very active, play hockey, ski, run, bike, soccer, softball, etc.etc... so you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to getting the electric hooked up and the tub filled.  Soon... hopefully soon.

I bought my tub from hottubber without even knowing it.  Nice surprise to find him here, but also a nice surprise to find all the knowledgeable and helpful people here.

Cheers!

2004 HS Vanguard April 2005

Married 18 years, 3 kids, 3 dogs

Found this site after aggresive show salesman told me the only bad things I'd see on the web about his tub were skirt screws.  Unfortunately, this site opened my eyes to the importance of the dealer, and I just couldn't go through with the deal.  This dealer had 55 BBB compaints in the last 3 years, 36 in the last 12, most related to recent show.  I had put a $1,000 deposit on a tub in Feb (yes i was crazy to cave in to the salesman) and was afraid to place the order based on what I found out.  Finally in March I drove to the dealer to order the tub, and found an available for lease sign on the lawn.  The dealership was closed, no answer on the phone, no sign on the door.  Got a another number on the website and was told they were reopening the retail store at end of April, and that I could not get my deposit back because they'd already ordered my tub!!!.  (Don't know how, because they were waiting to hear if I wnated the model with lounger or without - and that it would be 6 weeks from date I ordered it) Rather than throw good money after bad, I walked away and went with HS dealer who'd been around for 25 years - the dealer and the tub are great !!!  As for the other tub, if the tub is so good, why the lousy sales tactics!

Half way educated spa Consumer

Live in Northern California
Married almost 24 years
One 19 yr old son
Love vacations on cruise ships, camping, reading

Have been  looking at spas for at least 6 years.  Every year we went to the fair, we always said someday we'll get one.  Well it took a serious accident to finally make the decision.  Was involved in a SUV spin out on freeway and roll over accident in Winnemucca Nevada 2 yrs ago, (black ice) thankfully we all survived without any major injuries, but I was left with neck and shoulder pain.  Therapy helped, but realized this is something I'll need to live with.  So saved our pennies for a few years and purchased a 2005 Optima a couple of weeks ago.

After the accident, we try and not wait if possible to purchase things we want.  We have learned you never know when your time is up and enjoy life now.  After the accident my husband went right out and bought his first Harley.  He was supposed to wait for his 50 b-day, but he wanted to enjoy it now.

The Optima is my Harley and I hope it gives me the relief I'm looking for.

Thanks to this site and comments from you all, I learned to wet test and fell in love with the Optima.

Should be here in another week.

Rachel in Tennessee, in the process of purchasing our first hot tub. We do not need an expensive ...all the bells and whistles one...just looking for best price, good quality for mainly relaxation.  Right now looking at a Viking Supreme for around $3500....do not want to spend more. Any recommendations feel free to respond.

Thanks!

Danny, Consumer, New Guy

2004 Hot Springs Grandee since August 2005

Manchester, MO (about 15 miles west of St. Louis)

We bought the spa as a gift for my wife of about five years on her completion of Graduate School.  I’m a computer guy for a big company, hovering around Fortune 15 for the last few years, and my lovely, extremely tolerant wife, is a teacher of 4th grade kids.  We’ll have some of our own in a couple of years.  We enjoy any of the activities that go well with drinking beer.

You say that as if there are activities that DON'T go well with drinking beer.  I guess MAYBE neurosurgery or something along those lines.

I totally agree, other than driving cars, we'll do just about anything (I'm afraid of the comments) on the beer.  It makes planning the weekend much more easier.  I'm sure it's just a matter of time before some crazy doctor gets a NWI.

Terminator, you've got me thinking about that Shiner Bock again...I've got to figure out how to get some up here north of the border...BTW we've got some fantastic microbreweries up here; I'll bet you'd find some favorites to add to your list ;D

My story...Home is Calgary, Canada...married to a great and beautiful wife...2 kids (a girl - 8, and a boy - 10)...I work as an instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology...wife works as a lab technologist in the molecular diagnostics division of the virology lab at the Provincial Laboratory of Public Health (say THAT 5 times fast and you'll need a Shiner Bock to wet your whistle  ;) )  My '05 Maxxus has been 12 years in the planning stages...call it my early 40th bday gift!..."luvin, tubbin,"

Cheers!

  I'm in!

Paul, consumer, east suburbs of Toronto Ontario, Sundance Majesta July 2005. Thought about a hot tub for years, finally took the plunge. Or soak I guess. Awesome isn't a good enough word.

Happily married about 12 years, which is pretty good as we celebrated our 30th anniversary in July. (She hates when I say that but she puts up with it.. the woman's a saint I tell ya). Three children: one born in the 70s, one in the 80s and one in the 90s. I think we're due again but that snip says we're done. Oldest girl married, working as a paralegeal in town, youngest girl graduated from U of Guelph and off to teachers college soon, son just started high school.

Started in the IT industry back when it was Data Processing. Just got my thirty years in and can take early retirement but I just love my job so I may wait a while. And I should work some more and save for the young lad to go through school. Wife has been a domestic engineer and child-raiser for 29 years so she's got a few to go before she can retire.

Enjoy the fambly, golf and woodworking, mostly trying to build furniture now instead of decks and basements. Nice breaks from those darn computers.

Lots to learn about woodworking, spas and life yet, so this forum and a couple of woodworking ones are great resources. I like the friendly helpful atmosphere here.

Favourite drink in the tub... the tried and true Rusty Nail, although since I try to only have one each night it's more of a spike size than a nail. After reading Terminator's frequent recommendations I did try some Shiner Bock when I was down in San Fran a few weeks back. I can attest to it's quality. A great prelude to a a few irish coffees at the Buena Vista if you ever get that way.

Its' about 42F right now so as good a time as any. Now where'd I leave that large glass....     paul

Jay Seifert, 42 Married (Love Brookstien's line... "Happily most of the time")

Own a company called VoIP Solutions, Inc. (Have a website but too much busniess to build it and maintain it .... so far) Voice over IP consultant to large firms. . Consult to Lucent Technologies, AT&T, Verizon, SBC, Sprint, Time Warner, etc.  Most projects are multi-million dollar efforts.  I DO NOT work on commission so I get the same fees whether it's a 50Mil project or a 2mil deal.

At one time had though about getting "out of the tech business" and entertained opening up a Spa dealership. I've owned and run other retail stores in the past and Hot Tubs seemed like a natural extension.  Got final vendors down to either Jacuzzi, Bull Frog or Beachcomber prior to scraping the whole idea.  However, now may have the opportunity to acquire an "ongoing" major name HT dealer with decent volume so may once again be "in the market" for a dealership.

- Happily Married for past 13 years
- 2 boys (one 9 and one 2 & 1/2).
- Car enthusiast on MBworld with same moniker (AMG)
- Audio entusiast on AVSforum with same monkier
- Single-digit golfer (In-The-Bunker=N-Da-Bunka)
- Amatuer player (play World Amatuer every year in MB)
- 4.5 USTA tennis player (Team captain for neighborhood)
- Retired semi-pro water skier (National ranked in 80's)
- Entrepenuer - run own business and consult to others
- Supported myself through college on Stock Options trading. Now trade for "fun and profit" but not nearly as serious as I was when I was in my 20's.

Educated, occasionally controversial, consumer.
Married one child.
Illinois grad stuck in Mizzou country.
Owner Arctic Tundra. (see controversial)
Love to snow and water ski, can hack my way through 18, and still throw the weights around in the gym.  Got certified to dive a couple of years ago and very much enjoyed that.  Also enjoy cooking (I do 95+%) although we are reduced to grilling more than anything now, which isn't such a bad thing.

I wet tested most of the major brands readily available in the area (HS, D1, Sundance, Master, Caldera, CalSpa (Coleman - didn't get in) before selecting Arctic.  Got pricing on a few others including Marquis.  I could feel the love for Arctic here (NOT) but in spite of that, the performance of the Tundra in the wet test was well ahead of the others and when pushed, a few of the forum regulars (Kudos especially to Steve) had nothing bad to say about the spa itself which eased the decision.

better late than never

My Name is Ryan and I live in Ontario Canada.

I purchased an arctic tundra signature series at my local dealer.  I love it.

Married five years now to a wonderful gal and have a two year old son, who takes up all my free time.  We have another on the way and then I too will take the fix root.  ouch

I work with a local police agency and specialize in breath analysis and accident reconstruction.

I like my job, use to love it.  But the reality of not bein able to change the world kicks in.

Never like vacations until I met the wife.  She got me hooked now we travel atleast 4 times a year.

I have been all over the world in the past five years and look forward to my next destination.

I must have missed this 1st time around. Anyway, I'm a hot tub consumer.

Company: Computer Sciences Corporation

Capacity: Personal & laptop computer jockey. You break it - I fix it.

Home: Mechanicville, NY just N of Albany along the Hudson River between the Catskills and the Adirondacks. A beautiful area and a great place to live. Originally, a native Californian from the Bay Area.

History: Only been posting since March of this year. And it says a LOT about this site and everyone on it that I'm still posting here. Everyone is great (except for those who are banned and, at least, some of them can be entertaining).

Married to my beautiful wife of 23 years and we have a beautiful 12 year old daughter. And we have 2 beautiful... No wait a minute. 2 lazy, overfed, good for nothin' cats. Yeah, that's it. Well, OK, they do make great lap warmers.

I've been working with PCs  in one capacity or another since '88. I love working with computers. I enjoy the fact that as soon as you buy it, it's old technology and there's something new or faster or bigger or better (not necessarily better!).  At home, when I'm not doing chores or in my spa, you'll usually find me in front of my computer.

I'm glad to hear you had an opportunity to try some Shiner Bock!  It's not for everyone, but it is a nice change of pace from Miller, Bud, and Coors.  First time I had it my roommate in college brought me some and I put it in my Texas Chili.  It is the essential ingredient.  If any of ya'll make chili:

1. Don't put any stinkin' beans in there.  That's not chili!

2. Add a bottle of Shiner Bock to the chili and 5 bottles to the cook.  It gives the chili a nice flavor.

SDguy, be prepared to be ridiculed and ostracized for having a weapons collection, the same as I was.  You're going to have people post statistics about how many people have been killed by drive-by sword attacks and accidental beheadings and how Ninja and Samurai sword attacks account for 99% of the homicides in Japan.  Trust me, it's coming.

Stay the course and be vigilant.

thats good east tex, most of the stuff i have is collector's pieces like a civil war sword, 200 yr. old samurai blade, others are actually duplicates and arent sharp enough to cut through a stick of butter, but others can cut fiberglass, all are  stored in a locked, glass casing...its safe

but i do hope to have a gun collection at my first house, though jersey is a pain in the neck to get permits 8)

I go by AAAHHH. Been on this site on and off for 1 1/2 years. I am just a consumer 04 Marquis Euphoria and I love it. Mostly because it has been trouble free.

I am an Insurance Agent in West Central Wisconsin for the past 10 years.  I like what I do because I know I am helping people.

Married 20 years and spent our 20th anniversary in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.  I found the people extremely friendly and the area very welcoming and beutiful.  I do indeed plan on returning to Canada again. We love to travel and take our well earned time away from business.
