Title: Closed Cell Spa Blankets
Post by: Razorback on November 03, 2005, 09:38:01 pm
I am interested in feedback on the new foam spa blankets. Can't find them locally so I would have to order. Are they really that energy efficient?

NOT WORTH THE $$!!
I tried one because the other kind  (open cell/bubble-packint type) didn't last very long.   The foam cell was about 3 times the price, energy-efficient--yet I didn't think any more so than the cheaper "open cell", and then I found out why I will never buy another foam blanket:       they are ultra-thin, and when wet, the material sticks to itself and in a short time I found mine would tear.  In less than 6 weeks, mine was in no less than 4 pieces!!    I suppose I could have been more careful, but I always used my cover lifter to help remove the blanket when opening the hot tub, and to store it on while soaking.    I will never buy another foam blanket---unless they can make it so it doesn't tear!!
