I have a 1987 Hot Spring Jetsetter spa that is leaking where the thermostat wires access the water. Has anyone had this problem? What to replace?

Pretty common...
there is a brass fitting that has a long tube attached to it that you can unscrew, your dealer should have a new thermowell to put in.
Just be sure to be careful in pulling the thermocouples out of the well without damaging them. If you have problems finding one PM me and I will help.

Stuart, nice diagnosis, but at 3:17am?
ya, don't kink the copper tubing and the drywell can be replaced with water still in spa. you may lose a cup of water in the exchange.
Low PH and/or high chlorimine levels- watch your water balance.
