Title: Went to Home show and ...
Post by: rfraboni on September 25, 2005, 08:38:56 pm
Wife and I went to a home show this weekend and found both a hotsprings and Marquis dealer who were willing to work in our area, deliver and service without super high service fees.

Okay, here are the items we found and would like some opinions on the how the prices sound.

HS Grandee 2005.5 with steps, ozone, cover-lift, for 8300 plus tax.

Marquis Epic loaded (stereo, etc) with steps, lift, ozone, spa frog, electrician and wiring for 9400 plus tax

Marquis Euphoria (standard without stereo) same as over.

All three feel like good tubs, what are opinions on the above?

Also, would I be wrong to go to the local HS dealer to ask them about what I found  and how close they can get to the non-local dealers deal.  I would like to give the local dealer the chance for the business since he does work closely with the college I work at.

Thank you for your time.

Rich

Both are good spas.  Make sure you WET TEST!  Put your money into a home stereo and get outdoor speakers.  We sell a floating remote control for spa that can control your stereo with a few inferred towers depending on how far your stereo is from the spa.

Good question.  Those beat St. Louis prices.

Absolutely, give it a shot. All things being equal (or at least close to equal), it sure would be nice to buy from the local guy.

That is a good price for HS Grandee.  I just inked a deal in NJ for $10,500 with ozone, lift cover, step and start-up chemicals with tax.

My suggestion is wet test also.  The Epic has the advantage on paper, but that doesn't mean that the Grandee won't fit your body better and fit your needs better.  It depends on what's more important to you...if you cannot test the spas.

Spoke with the local HS dealer, and they said they cannot really move at all off the price they gave me originally and I asked why.  I just loved response and it sort of hit a chord with me.

"Well that is because there just isn't much competition in this area."

Which I feel translates that I am going to get as much as I can just because I can.  I understand making a profit it just made me wonder.

I just wanted to share this.

Thank you for all your patience with me.

I guess that depends on who is reading the paper. ;D

Holy cow, that is a GREAT price on the Grandee.  For the 2005.5, it would cost you $9,600 for the spa only, no accessories, in east Texas.  I'd be all over that like a duck on a june bug!
