I'm sure plenty of jokers will chime in......
but, if you ever experience this, there is a way to eliminate it.
Upon super chlorinating or super-brominating, using a clean rag or sponge, take the water from the spa and wipe the topsides of the spa above the water line. splash and wipe the underside of the cover as well.
this will kill any mold, mildew or bacteria. little black dots on underside of cover(the start of mildew).
works like a charm!

That's what micro ban does as well.

I respectfully differ from you opinion of Micro Ban and Micro Ban shells. From everything I have read, the product does no more or less than any other good acrylic shell. If it is being sold or marketed as a self disinfecting or self cleaning shell, there is some misinformation being passed.
Nice tip, httpb.

Gotta agree with Tony on this one. My understanding is that there's never been any kind of test to determine that micro ban actually does anything in a spa.
It should be an easy test to do. Take two raw acrylic parts of a shell. One micro ban, and one not, cut them in half and glue one of each together, then back the whole thing with fiberglass. Build it into a spa and see what happens.
