Title: May Long Weekend
Post by: JcDenton on May 23, 2005, 10:14:01 am
For those of you in the U.S, you might not be aware that up here in Canada today is a national holiday (Victoria Day). Every third weekend in May most people get an extra day off.

And for the 6th year in a row (where I live), it has rained, rained rained. Looks like this year might be a record.

People look forward to this weekend all year! For all of you that have been rained out again - I hear ya!

I think we in the US should get 1.25 days off for each day our Canadian friends get off.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully our long weekend coming up will have better weather. What a strange spring it has been so far.  I haven't turned the tub down from 104 yet, and I don't see it happening this week.

Same here in the MPLS, MN area.  I stained our deck, except for the railings about 3 weeks ago.  Since then, it's rained almost  constantly.  But it was getting pretty dry around here.

I think if you checked the records for us, in the Month of May so far, we have had daily high temps in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s,70s, and 80s.

In order for that to happen you would have to be able to drink 1.25 times more beer than us.  ;D

Over a week later and we still haven't seen the sun. Last summer (in our area) was considered the worst in the history of summer weather since they began keeping track of temps. In fact, Siberia had a better summer than we did - true fact.

Some say that this summer will be a repeat of last year. I'm not sure I can accept that.  >:(
