Title: Time to ink the deal!
Post by: leaky on August 22, 2005, 09:20:13 am
I tossed my offer to the Beachcomber rep, and he took the bait!

Model 730 for $8,940 plus tax.

This includes the Limited Edition package, additional filter, 2 lb. foam cover, coverlift, extra step, ozonator, delivery and setup.

I'm planning on heading down after work today and writing up the contract.  Since the color I want is not in stock, it will have to be made, and should put delivery about three weeks out.  That will give me time to put an additional course of slumpstone on the wall for a little more privacy, finalize the electrical issues, and move the BBQ island.

Getting pretty excited now!

PS-He did tell me that he could only do the deal if I agreed to take his wife also.  Told him that I have one of those models all ready, and I'm not sure if I want MINE all the time, no less his! ;)

Great news, what color did you get?

Shell is "Beachwood", skirt will be "Twilight" (standard colors of the 750).

Congrats but I'm curious to know if you ever made it over to see Mendo? ???

Same as mine, this is supposed to be the "express" model that is in stock and should be available within a week.  The only thing that has to be added is the ozonator which the dealer can do.  Ask your dealer

Unfortunately, I didn't go see Mendo.  My wife (read: final decision maker) didn't want: A- A lounger, despite whether it was described as an Adirondak or something else, B- The need to divert valves for targeting specific areas, and C- The vertical "tower" on the Epic. No disrespect at all to Harry, who was more than gracious with his PMs and willing to do whatever we wanted to accomodate us.

As for availability, I'll find out what the delivery story is this afternoon.  It was late yesterday when we talked, and there was no capability to inquire at that time.

I re-checked my numbers, and I was actually able to do even a little bit better: $8,841, not $8940.
