Alright guys and girls my Optima got here today ;D. I hooked up the electric....filled it with water and turned it on (the deck I built is still standing :)). It was already at 84 degrees before I turned on the heater. Its been an hour and a half and its up to 90 degrees. I added the necessary chemicals and I am just waiting. How long do I have to wait before I can get in? Everything seems to be working so I am very happy. Thanks to everyone for this great resource...I am sure I'll be asking some dumb water maintenance questions. This is my first tub so I am still learning. Can I get in yet?

Can I get in yet?
1) The dumbest questions are the ones not asked.
2) We're all still learning.
3) Let it get to temp and hop in.
Congrats.

re: Can I get in yet?
No! No! No!
Getting into a hot tub is absolutely the worst thing you can do. It messes up the water chemistry, your electric bills shoot sky high....water gets everywhere. What are you thinking? ;)
Seriously, As longs as the your chems arent totally screwed you should be able to jump in. Take a test strip and ensure your Chlorine and PH and Alk are all in the zone.

Got in last night at 10:30....the water was 101, chemicals were good and it felt great. Like everyone else has probably said "Why did I wait so long to get one" . Wow.... tonight will be even better. Couple a cold ones, me, the stars and maybe I'll let the wife in :o
Thanks
