I am looking for a 6-7 foot round hot tub to use in Tahoe where there will be lots of snow. Any recommendations?

My obvious first question would be; why round?
It certainly has an appeal for esthetics in certain environments but some are lead to believe they take up less space which isn't true.
Other drawbacks include bench (uncomfortable) seating and generally these spas offer very little therapeutic value to them.

Hey Steve, I can fit 4 people very comfortably into a 5' round hot tub........ that's just over 19.5 square feet of space taken up............. ain't no leadin to believin there ;D

Oh, you mean four people!?
Yes, wood tubs have the distinct advantage of being your choice of depth. A taller tub means you can put more folks into a tub of smaller diameter.
The bench seating is more comfortable in a deeper spa because you are just about floating.

round and octogon tubs were left in the '80's. they are all into ergonomics and jetting now. You will have to really look around for some of the "old style" tubs but they do still exist.

Check out the Nordic Crown XL. It is a large (7') round spa.

I had a round tub. It was very nice for socializing and entertaining.
Hover my specific round tub didn't have enough cup holders and no ledge space, which honestly is very important if you are entertaining in the tub. Side bars, I found were also hard to come by because of the shape..
Are there less choices too with cover lifters with a round spa?

The resort we frequently go to has all round spas, relatively new (and I assume efficient ones) Viking I believe. They are definitely meant to be a social enhancer, good heat, not much in jets. The resort built a shelf behind them and you just push the folded cover onto the shelf and pull it back when your done. The average guests, who probably isn't a hot tub owner, has no problem with that. The tub probably seats 6 comfortably.
