Title: Chose the SD Cameo
Post by: cappykat on July 20, 2005, 11:06:54 am
We've chosen the SD Cameo and can't wait to get it.  I think I mentioned that I was in 2 car accidents in 1997, and we are submitting under those claims.  So, hopefully the insurance company will sign off on it and I'll be soaking my pain away very shortly.

I have gone to chiropractors, neurosurgeons, orthos, you name it.  It wasn't until my daughter bought her house (it came with a spa) and I used her spa that I experienced the therapy of a hot tub.

This is going to be a godsend to have.  I'll let everyone know how it goes.  This site and the people who post have given me a wealth of information.  All the information went towards helping us make a decision.

Thanks!!

I feel for your pains cappy as you probably know if you've been on this site very long I too suffer from pains mine are in my lower back. My tub actually has helped wonders for the past three weeks so I can relate. I've done everything possible to try to get my back to stop hurting to no avail...I now am looking at either a pain pump or a neuro stimulator soon. I so hope the hot tub helps and btw the sundance is an excellent choice! If I could have afforded one that was my second choice for therapy.

Hope your wait isn't very long...and I truly hope you have a wonderful time in your new tub! Welcome to the almost Spatopia!

My husband had given me the "joy" of making the decision since I am the one with the health concerns.  I liked the Cameo when I wet tested it and also the dealer.  It's Erickson Custom Pools & Spas and they have several locations and have been in business since 1984.  They have a first class operation, so that was part of the decision.  Just felt that the SD was an excellent product.

I loved the HS, but really wanted a "built-in" stereo system and the Spaudio was too expensive.

Backpains....I have severe fibromyalgia, cervical and lumbar problems.  I know the hot tub isn't a "cure" but if it helps relax and alleviate the pain even momentarily....I'll be happy!  Here's hoping we both improve!!

not to change your mind but did you wet test the maxxus; it will give you more room to stretch out and the foot mound is really nice. we also tested the cameo. the seats are very similar in cameo and maxxus. good luck.

I would love the Maxxus but don't think we can go that high.

I have had my Cameo for three years now.  Love it.  Use it most every day.  I really like the foot massage in the lounge seat.  Make sure you get a cover lift.

cappy,
You've chosen a fine tub that should give you great service.  May the goddess of Spatopia bless you with crystal water (and sturdy panels  ;))

Well cappy, I've got bad news for you, your gonna have to wait.  Now that you have all of that terrible shopping ordeal behind you, pick up a bottle of wine and get some of those nice smelly aromatic candles and get ready to just LOVE your hot tub.

There really wasn't a bad choice out there and we are glad you survived the ordeal. ;D ;D

We would all be interested to hear your "first impressions" and the resulting benefits to the fibro so be sure to fill us in later.  Thanks.

Congratulations!!!!   We've had our Cameo for about 10 days and we love it!!!  We never wet tested any spas, but we could not have made a better choice!!!  Love the lounge, love the footwell jets - love everything about it!!!!

We've got quite a wait in store I'm afraid.  We are planning to add a screened porch to put the tub in.  I wanted a beautiful outdoor space, but my husband wants it inside.  He says since we are in Florida we'll be bothered by bugs all the time.  I figure since he let me pick the tub, I'll give on this.

We've got to get the slab poured and then the construction of the porch.  We are taking a 10 day trip to Mackinaw Island in August, so I guess we'll start the room when we get back.

J.McD....I will post as we start the process and update as we go.

Thanks for all the great comments and encouragement.  ;D

Good luck, let us know how it goes, I'm sure lots of shoppers about to start the process will enjoy reading your previous posts on the experience.

That's great cappy :) The Cameo is a great spa. In my personal opinion the Cameo lounge is the best massage I've ever gotten in any spa I've ever been in. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and get wet... ;D

The wait is well worth it, Cappy, for whatever reason!

Once it is installed and hot, you will forget all about the agonizing wait!

Good luck!

Thought I should clear up a mistake on an earlier post on this subject.

I didn't wet test the Cameo...I tested the Optima.  They didn't have a Cameo to test.  I dry tested the Altamar and Marin and decided on the Cameo because it's a bit larger.

I've read other posts from owners of the Cameo and they love it.  I think everyone said you don't float out of the lounger.  Anyway...just wanted to clear that up.  Hoping it's everything I believe it will be!  :D
