Title: Misters, A great way to COOL down in a HOT tub!
Post by: ZzTop on June 21, 2004, 05:42:57 am
I just installed a Misting kit in my Gazebo over my Hot Tub.
I installed a nozzle over each seat.

It can reduce the temperature of the air up to 25 degrees Farenheit.

This really works. and is very inexpensive.

Today we had 80 degree temperatures in the shade, very unusual in Vancouver Canada this early in the year.

Cost $39.95 Cdn
Installation Time  10 Minutes
Store: Rona
Product order Number MC525
1/4" 6mm Portable Cooling System Kit
Mfg:   Mist & Cool 2250 Agate Court, Simi Valley California 93065 USA
Web site:http://cloudburst.com/mistcool.html

I highly recommend this - Real Cool!

80?  When does it get hot?  Or is that Canadian temperature, you know that metric thing?  ;D

Interesting idea.  We also have had several high 80's days here this early and expect many in the mid to upper 90's.  I'll take a look.

Much better idea than a built in misting unit using the tub water! Thanks for the website.

That is an incredible idea!   :)

Any known issues with wood damage due to the misting?   ???

I would love to install something like this when our gazebo arrives!  Thanks for the info and link.  I'm off to do more research.   ;D

Anybody else tried this?
It added a new dimension to our Spa.

Great Idea!

The web site doesn't give any pricing information. How much was it and did you purchase it direct or go through a store?

Thanks

As long as the air temperature is hot and dry you should not have any problems

This is a way cool idea..I'm thinking I need to tell hubby about this cause we have the steel roof and man does it hold in the heat!!!
Now I'm going to bombard you with questions: How does this system hook up??? where does it connect to?? and how would it effect my wood?

Misters are cool, no pun intended.

We got lucky and when they delivered our Vita Spa, it had the mister option. It hooks up to a fresh water line so it's not spraying tub water. It works great and allows us to use the tub even during the summer heat in Florida.

I was talking to my brother in California the other day, he does custom pool and spas. He says the really nice misters run off a pressure pump that makes about 600 psi. The water is atomized so fine you'll never feel wet.

Backpains-notice the date of this post- it was a year ago.  I just wanted to bump it for those who were asking about them..... As far as I know, ZZ hasn't posted here for quite some time.  I don't know if he still lurks or not.  Hopefully someone can answer your ?'s though.

Since your body normally produces mist(sweat) while soaking in a hot tub, many may also find a fan to work nicely. ;D

ZZ's last post - May 31st, 2005, 4:54pm   He was wearing his robe, slippers, black rimmed glasses and was drinking orange juice at the time,  He emptied the carton, and put the empty back in the Fridge. I'm amazed at what you people do when you post.

This system hooks up to your garden hose.  You would only use it when it is really hot out so I don't think it would be a problem to your wood as the mist evaporates.

Cheers ZzTop

Bill yes I am still lurking and will contribute whenever I feel I have something of value to share.
