Title: Best spa @4k-5k
Post by: rftsr on July 04, 2005, 11:49:52 pm
Okay, here's the deal...can't spend more that $5000 which is pushing it. Have owned Jacuzzi, Coleman and Hydrospa, which to my surprise was a great spa that cost $4200. Here's the brands I'm thinking about for the new spa: (please don't advise as to D1, Hotsprings, Jacuzzi, Master, etc...SO out of my price range) Looking at Reflections (vita), Clearwater, Diamante made and rebranded by Hollywood Spas, Superior, Southbeach at halfpricespas.com, Sierra Spas, and the really nice Tranquility Deluxe at International Spas.net which I can get from them or from Dolphin Bay Distributors for @$4300. (I bought my Hydrospa from them and they were really awesome)

Any feedback, positive or negative would be great!

Thanks!  :P

How long did they last.  I have been under the impression that some of the less expensive spas are only good for 5 years or so.  Has anybody had theirs last a lot longer or is this all hype?

Try the Sundance Hermosa.
I think it list for around $5000, but it may be on sale in your area.
I just ordered one and it should be here maybe today.
We wet tested the hot springs and sundance and the hermosa was the best for the price.
The only thing Hot Springs had that was comparable was a round tub that seated about 4.

I think the Hermosa is a great spa, as well.  The spa should be priced well under $5,000 in the U.S.  The spa should be in the $4,000 range.

Thanks Chris, I was wondering why I couldn't find that one on the Sundance website.

Yeah, I wasn't sure how much they listed for, but we got ours for about $3695 plus tax.

Bt the way,  a dealer told me they used to sell it under the Jacuzzi name, and now they sell it under Sundance.
I heard the shell was made by Jacuzzi and the inside stuff was made by Sundance.

Why not consider the Hotspring Jetsetter? It's in that price range and is made as well as their larger tubs. I have one and it feels like a quality product. In retrospect I might rather have more seating capacity, but I'd rather have quality then quantity.

IMHO Nordic makes great spas in that price range. Not fancy, no waterfalls, light shows, etc. just a rock solid reliable tub. Check 'em out.

The Reflections line by Vita seems to be a good value.  All the pumps, valves, jets, framework, etc. are are the same (although the jets in the Reflections do not have the SS faceplates).   They have economized in the area of features like LED lighting, built in N2 fittings, circulation pumps, ozone generators, all of which can be added back in for addtional $$.  The biggest difference that lowers the price is warrenty.  Most Reflections spas have a 3 year - Vita 700 series is 5 year.

How many people do you anticipate using the spa at the same time?

The Cal Spa V-600 is around 5k and offers a 5yr warranty!

A few more possibilities for you would be the Coleman 104,105, or 107.  You could also look at the Cove or possibly the Dream from Dimension One

Thanks guys for all the feedback...there'd be only 2 people using the spa at once at the most. I definately will check out all the suggested spas. It's got to have good neck and foot massage jets as those have been my favorite features from previous ones.
