Title: Cal Spas featured on GMA
Post by: themoc on June 28, 2005, 11:51:30 am
Thought I would get a rise out of the board by mentioning that I saw Cal Spas featured quite prominently today on Good Morning America. The segment was on how to make your backyard a permanent vacation place, and one of the ideas was a new hot tub by Cal Spas, or a new outdoor kitchen and fireplace and TV ($45K) also from Cal Spas.

They must have good PR.  : )

Still glad I bought my Sundance though....

Interesting, I wish I could have seen it.  It would have been great if one of the hosts would have reffered to it as a Jacuzzi :)

This is meant as a joke regarding when I was in the audience of The Price is Right and they referred to a Beachcomber as a "Jacuzzi"

So is Cal Spa really frounded upon on this board?

I just got a sundance, and have a friend close to getting a deal for a cal spa. Should I direct him to this sites reviews? Are they that unlikable?

I think I speak for most with this upcoming comment.  The only professionals that feel Cal Spas is a good spa are the ones that sell Cal Spas.

Just tell your friend to go on ripoffreport.com.  That will show you a lot...
Title: Avoid Cal Spa

Read my Cal Spa reviews and factor in this additional information since then:

I have spent 28% of the purchase price on repairs

I lost a two speed pump

I lost a heater (cracked)

I have had 12 jets pop out with cracked couplers that need to be replaced (it took their retail outlet over 10 weeks to replace them during which I got no correspondence about the status)

The bulb burned out on the remote stereo controller twice (I know this sounds minor but it took many hours on the phone to get a replacement - eventually gratis from the stereo manufacturer - Cal Spa disowns all electronics from day one - if their tub causes radio interference that is your problem they were useless)

Yeah, just spent an informative 30 mins at ripoffreports... never seen so much crud about one manufacturer, especially when there don't seem to be *any* others close to it in volume in the same industry.

You can stream anyone of the videos from the Calspa web site.... GMA, Monster House or a few more.

I think the GMA video features the swim spa with the flat panel Tv that pops up. $18K
