Title: Filling your spa?
Post by: Payton3485 on May 31, 2005, 02:42:43 pm
How often do you guys and gals need to fill your spa so that it is at the optimum level (i.e. Water level above the highest jets) ? I was just wondering how often you guys have to add a little water to the spa in between a total drain and refill. I would assume this would be water lost to condensation as well as people in and out of the spa. Thanks for your help!

About once every 2 weeks.

Very similar to Bill. Every 10 days - 2 weeks. The large majority of your water loss is due to bathers getting out of the spa.

Thanks for the quick replys ;D. So do you guys just fill the spa directly with a garden hose? Does this throw off your water chemistry at all? Thanks again!

Every two weeks I check it.  It seems to need it more in cold winter months, but I have no scientific proof of that.  Its good to check.  The one time I had a leak I knew it was going down faster than normal so I knew to look for problems.

Well, let's see. Every few days?

Why?

Yep...the garden hose. Based on the volume of water, adding a couple of inches won't effect the balance in most cases but it depends on your source water and the amount you are filling. Leave it for a day or so after topping it up and retest to be sure.

Great pic Drewski! That's what it's allllll about!
